Hi I'm Mitch

I am a Husband to the most beautiful wife. I am a bonefide ski bum, and mountain bike junkie. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mitch Thacker, I am the husband to the most amazing wife. Every day I love her more and more, we met each other in 8th grade. We were best friends, and after my mission we became engaged and were sealed for time and all eternity on 10 Jan 2013. It has been an amazing journey and I look forward to the rest of eternity. I have lived in northern Utah my entire life, aside from the two year LDS mission that I served in southern California. My mission was an amazing experience. I was exposed to so many different cultures beliefs that it broadened my testimony of this Gospel in a way that I would have never been able to gain otherwise. I love my life. I am a struggling college student, and new husband but i couldn't imagine my life if I didn't have this Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, like many of the members of the Church. The thing that I have learned is that no matter who you are, you have to be converted to this Gospel by the Holy Ghost, so in a way we are all converts to this Church. My life has been in no way easy, but I have been blessed every single day I have been on this earth. Heavenly Father is real. He loves all of his children so much. He wants us to make good choices, and be the absolute best that we can be. I also have learned that when we fall short. When we make the choices that do not make our Heavenly Father proud, we can be forgiven. It is our choice. I know that we are all children of a merciful, loving, forgiving Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet that restored the true and everlasting Gospel. I also know that President Monson, the prophet today, is a true prophet, and that he was called by our Heavenly Father. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now my wife and I are Sunday school teachers in our ward for the 15-18 year old young men and women in our ward, also I am a ward missionary. I love to teach. I am passionate about this Gospel and the blessings that come from righteous living. I love to share my testimony and both of the callings that I have allow me to do what I love in a profound way. I have learned that life is a roller coaster, sometimes life throws you for a loop. My way of staying grounded is the small things. Daily prayer, both alone and with my wife. Scripture study, and aside from that, just looking to be the best person that I can. Trying to serve when the opportunity presents itself to who ever I can. I know that when we do the little things in life we are blessed so much, and those blessings give us the faith to also take the big steps in life.
