Hi I'm Melody

I'm a wife, mother, dog groomer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 8 kids, 5 boys and 3 girls in that order, 3 of whom I gave up for adoption for varies reasons. I placed them all in the same LDS home. I had a substance abuse problem for about 3 yrs. I've been married twice. I have lots of regrets. I'm not one of those people that can say that even though I have regrets for things done, that I'm happy for them, for they made me who I am. My choices have caused me to not be able to fulfill who I am inside. What I've always been and meant to do. I love to meet new people, to eat (especially spicy food) and try new things. I'm somewhat of a dare devil. I love animals but horses the best. I have dreamed of competing in the 3 day events or horse racing. I love to groom dogs, as long as they are not biting me. I show and breed Standard Parti Poodles. I find I'm a bit of a perfectionist in certain things. Dog grooming is one of them. I love to decorate and love old homes with charm and character. I love to talk and laugh with my family and friends. I like lazy days just chilling with family either watching movies or walking the dogs. I love to travel and have been to Ireland, England, Canada, Mexico. Hoping to go to New Zealand and Italy one day. Maybe on my senior mission I'll get lucky enough to make it there one day. I want to live out in the country with horses and my animals. Somewhere green like Kentucky, Utah or South Carolina. Being the best mom I can be is important to me. I love being a mother, I love my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born & raised in the church. My family wasn't always members though. It all started with my father. Who was born & raised in Mexico, later lived in California where he met & married my mother. My family moved back to Mexico. My younger brother & I were born there. My father noticed one particular family always attending church on Sundays. He developed a desire that this is what he wanted for his own family. Their first attempt they sat in the car waiting for the rain to clear, as it did, they went inside and it just didn't feel right to them, so they left disappointed. The second attempt they waited by the front door waiting to be accepted or at least approached. A gentlemen threw a cigarette out by them and others just walked by. They were not welcomed. My father decided to pray and ask which church he should he attend. That's when the Mormon missionaries showed up, they were welcomed, my father felt his prayers had been answered. My aunt had given the missionaries their address but it had been several months before. Perhaps my family wasn't ready to receive the gospel. The lord has his own time table in which things happen. My parents were great pioneers for their local church. They brought back a lot of inactive members and provided our home to the missionaries. Having them live in our house was a great blessing for us. Our family was very centered in the church. I believe that my parents love for the lord built my own testimony & faith. As I got older I made a lot of choices that now hamper my life, the way I would like to live it. I see that the lord had more for me then I understood. Having always known better, I feel I cheated myself of what more my life would have been, had I followed his promptings & his gospel. Knowing the gospel now for what it is, I feel for those who seem to always be searching for something more. I truly believe that this belief and gospel has all that is needed to feel complete as long as you live it. I'm proof of that!

How I live my faith

I'm proud of being a member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. I am always willing to talk and express my testimony of my faith when the opportunity presents itself. He has set guidelines and has prophets that speak to us. I attend church often, follow the word of wisdom, pay tithe, attend the temple, family home evenings. I hang pictures of spiritual sayings, of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ and our founding prophet, Joseph Smith and Temples. I would like to attend as many Temples throughout the United States in my lifetime. I also have a calling in my church which I take pride in serving to the best of my abilities. Whenever there is a need filled of big proportions that is when I'm called upon. That is my calling as the Humanitarian Specialist. Some of these things are done more often the others. Some are set in stone and never faileth. I find my home is more peaceful and the stress level is much less. Knowing that these things work is what keeps me striving to do them always. Following what the lord has laid out for us may seem hard as non members to conceive but that is simply not true. Following the guidelines our Heavenly Father has set for us not only makes us be closer to him but to be more like him, things in life are much easier to bare, often times we grow through the trails in life and I believe that their is a purpose for us all in our lives.
