Hi I'm Kelsey

I love smiling! I'm a quirky, optimistic, eat-your-dessert-first gal. I'm happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am not your everyday, average girl. I am a unique individual and I don't like to "follow the crowd" or "blend in". I enjoy playing every kind of sport and come college football season my Saturdays are completely booked for anything but hooting and hollering at the tv screen. I love love spending time with my family and friends. Photography is the way I express myself. I destress by hitting the pavement with my running shoes laced tight, headphones bringing the beats and nothing but open road to conquer. I love to learn so I guess you could say I'm an aspiring jack-of-all-trades. I can be indecisive sometimes but never about my values. I love being outside and I love the sunshine. I really love helping other people smile: that's my favorite. This life is a rollarcoaster ride but I'm the crazy girl in the front, arms thrown in the air, hair whipping everywhere, big smile on my face screaming "I love this ride!"

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints simply because I KNOW it is true. I admit I had to put effort into learning the truth but anything worthwhile is going to take work. I grew up in the church but I studied the Book of Mormon. (Not just read the words but I pondered what I was reading.) I would speak with God in prayer as if He was standing in front of me and I would directly ask Him about the Book of Mormon. I haven't always been active in this church because I went out and looked for happiness. But I can testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. It is the gospel which provides ETERNAL HAPPINESS. I know that Jesus Christ is the head of this church. I am a Mormon because it's true, it provides answers to all my questions, I can feel lasting happiness and God answered my prayers when I asked Him if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I have had a wide variety of callings at church and I love that I have been able to help others. Visiting teaching has been a blessing for me because I am able to build lasting friendships and it gives me an opportunity to lend a helping hand to my neighbors. But I beleive that you don't have to have a calling in the church to live your faith. I have seen many people in the church and people not in the church who are examples of true Christianity and that's living your faith. To me living my faith is in the things which God has always asked His people to do: daily studying of the scriptures, daily prayers, having a willingness to do what God asks and following the example of Jesus Christ. Everyday I am living my faith. I'm not perfect but I always try to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ; He showed us the way to truly live.
