Hi I'm Nolan Scott Nicks

I'm an athlete, a student, a coach, a missionary, a son to my loving family and to my Heavenly Father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Porto Alegre, Brazil. I come from a loving family of 7, my mom and dad, my 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I am the second oldest out of my 5 siblings. I play football, lift weights, snowboard, wakeboard, kneeboard, sing, dance, and just have a good time. I love to help others in anything and everything they need. I don't like to be boring, I try and make things fun for everyone. I get along with people just fine, and I like meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been born a Mormon, and I will always be a Mormon, and I will never be ashamed of that. I love learning about this gospel and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to teach it to people who want to learn about it. I have faith in Jesus Christ, I know He's my Savior and Redeemer, and that He died for us. I know this Church is true, and I'm grateful for the many blessings I've received while attending Church. I'm very happy being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, it brings joy and peace to my heart and to my spirit. I want to share this happiness with everyone, because everybody deserves to be happy and feel joy and peace in their hearts no matter who they are or where they come from. I believe this to be true. I know that my Redeemer lives. I believe that everybody can return to live with our Heavenly Father. He wants to help us live in His presence again.

How I live my faith

Teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ is how I live my faith. Constantly feeling the spirit inside me as I go throughout my days is what I strive to do everyday. I pray everyday, and read the Book of Mormon everyday, and i go forward everyday with a strong and loving spirit. I show charity and I live by the covenants I made with my Father in Heaven. I attend church every sunday and share my light of Christ with everyone I come in contact with.

What is faith?

Nolan Scott Nicks
From what I've learned over the years, faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things. Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, but which are true. In primary I was taught that faith is like a little seed. If you plant it, nurture it, and take care of it, it will grow to be a huge tree. If you exercise your faith in Jesus Christ, plant it, nurture it, and take care of it, then you will come to know the truth of all things by the power of the Holy Ghost. You have to have a desire to believe though, and take action to exercise your belief, if so, then your faith will grow inside you. You will feel a swelling in your heart, and you will know it's true. I know this is true, I have felt this swelling and believe in Jesus Christ. He lives, and He will come again. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Nolan Scott Nicks
Serving others, even those who aren't members of the Church, is our religion pretty much. We have been taught since youth to follow the example of Jesus Christ and to be charitable and be willing to serve others whenever we get the chance to do so. Show more Show less
