Hi I'm Joseph

I am the middle child, I have a big family, I love to shoot (both in real life and video games,) and I'm a mtn dew drinking Mormon

About Me

I am a computer geek and nerd in every definition of the phrase. I love to play video games and have LAN parties. I also enjoy swimming, snowboarding, and chess. I love to watch a good T.V. show such as The Big Bang Theory, House, Supernatural, and Avatar the Last Airbender. I also just love a good political debate. I will debate anything and everything. I love and will do anything to get some sort of fire going and when I do they tend to get bigger and bigger. I love life and I'm a mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, I have strong Mormon ancestors. However that doesn't mean that I am imediately a Mormon. There was a time in my life when I questioned. I didn't want to be part of it anymore. I was finished. As time went on I felt more aloof from it all and I gradually became more and more unhappy. As that happened I knew what I had to do. So I decided to kneel down and to pray and ask God what to do. It was the first time I had actually prayed in awhile. I asked God if he was there and if he was if he would make himself known to me. The feeling I got after that was one of pure love. I then asked if I should stay a member of the church and do the things that the church was asking of me to do. The feeling only got stronger. I know that as all children of God do just that, ask him he will make himself known to you and will let you know that this is his restored church on earth.

How I live my faith

I currently am serving a mission for the church in the California Anaheim mission, and am looking for any and all who want to know more about the gospel. I love teaching people about it and sharing my testimony with them.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Some of my very best friends growing up were not mormon. Anytime they needed anything from a hug, to a ride to school, to just talking with them, or even help with manual heavy physical work (something I don't enjoy much and am not that great at.) I would always do my best to be there for them and to help them in anyway I possibly could. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women don't hold the priesthood because that is the way God set it up. However women are just as equal to men in every way. Just as 1+1=2. Equal in every way but not the same. You could possible argue that 1+1 is bigger because it requires more characters, then simply putting 2 yet everybody still says that they are equal. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom simply states that we take care of what God gave us. If you have a really good friend and you go and get them a really nice present and then they trash it fill it with garbage and just don't take care of it, it can hurt. The body God has given us is an extremely valuable gift. He wants us to take care of it. He has said that Tabacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, cocane and so many other things are not good for it. If you ask and medical professional they will say the same thing. If you follow the word of wisdom God will bless you more than you could possibly even begin to imagine. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is a beautiful and sacred thing. It simply says don't have sex with somebody you aren't married to, don't get married to someone of the same sex as you, and don't look at pornography. As you share the sacred special experiences of sex for your one spouse it will be so much more meaningful and more intimate than anything else you could experience. . Show more Show less
