Hi I'm Sean Elwell

I am an avid Sports fan, devout family man and love when the sun is out, but most of all I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sports and family are a big part of my life. If I am not watching my children participate in sports, I am watching them. I work hard to play hard and what free time I do have, I live for having fun. I work to provide for my family but love to play golf, cross train, and spoil my sweet wife. I have been through divorce and see what implicaitons this can have on families. Currently I am a father and a step father to 6 wonderful kids. My wife is my rock and I look to her each day for support and Love. I grew up in Utah, but moved to Washington about 12 years ago. I have developed a Love for the sun, as when I do not see it much, I miss it. I take pride in my famiy and look forward to being a better husband and father. I have a passion for Football. I am an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and follow BYU football. Nothing better than a great football game. I try to keep up with my wife who is literally running all over the place. She has run numerous marathons and runs out family without fail. She inspires me and I Love her with all my heart. She always is concerned about my well being.

Why I am a Mormon

Nobody is perfect, I am just trying. Growing up a Mormon, my parents taught me about the principles and concepts of being a Mormon. I just had to learn for myself what that means. My co-workers and non mormon friends ask me all the time about what I am "not supposed to do" or why I cannot have a drink or smoke. I have chosen to be free from alcohol or tobacco. I have chosen to be chaste and try to be clean because I have gained a personal witness of avoiding these pitfalls. My life has been blessed for these choices and I can be free from any addictions. Obedience is the key as when we are asked to do something as Mormons, we need to gain a personal testimony of each concept and principle. If you struggle with a certain issue, take this up with God and see what he can do for you and how he can help you. Being perfect is not a requirement for being a Mormon. Each of us have struggles every day and each of us have our own issues, but I cannot imagine being withou the direction of my Heavenly Father to overcome these issues. I have personally seen changes in people and overcome problems, and I know this is because of Gods help. I have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints becuase I have asked and felt that the principles and concepts are true. I have been a member my entire life, and though I have been taught by my parents about the church, I have found out for my self that it is true and cannot imagine my life with out it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith knowing that someday I will be held accountable for my actions. I have made covenants with God that help me understand that I cannot go back, I have made promises that I will fullfill each and every day. I have been given so much and look for ways to give back. In my hometown, I have been given the responsibility of overseeing the physical and spiritual needs of males between the ages of 18 and 45. I have great men that help me and each week we spend time at church with each other and try to visit them in their homes. Looking out for them to make sure they have a strong support system, basic living requirements, and maintaining a good relationship with God. I do not see each and every one of them each week but I am in constant prayer to ask God to please watch over them. I have other good men who try to visit them each and every month and make sure they are OK. I cannot say enough about the support system in place. As I try to teach my children personal accountability, I choose the same with my faith. I have chosen to live the principles and concepts, I just need to follow them. I sometimes fail and do not meet all expectations, but that is where God makes up the diffrence and try to do better. Is it hard, Yes, is it worth it, Yes. I belive that there is a battle for souls with Satan. I belive that just as much good in the world there is bad, I just have to immerse myself in the good. We as Mormons are just trying to make the world a better place and to improve our quality of living.
