Hi I'm Jon

I'm a college student. I'm a surfer, a rock climber, and a football player. I love to help people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors and I love to be active. I surf... A LOT, but I'm also a college student and play college football. I live with and am around a lot of people everyday who don't share my beliefs or ideals about life and religion but I enjoy standing out and helping others in anyway I can, whether that is physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents families are both from Cuba so naturally I come from a convert family. Growing up I always knew that the church was good because of the people that I met and helped teach me were good people. I also knew that when I lived the principles of the gospel my life just seemed to be better. Yet it wasn't until I was almost 19 when I really had to look within me and come to a real conclusion as to if the Book of Mormon was true or not. I had always prayed to know if it was but I was always missing the real intent, that if it was true that I would change my life to follow it. The moment it meant that much to me was the moment that I knew that the gospel of Jesus Christ was as real and as tangible as life itself.

How I live my faith

I've always believed that the best way to live the gospel is to quietly go about doing it. I'm not a preacher or a minister in any current sense of the word, but what I love to do is to simply live the principles of the gospel in my own life and watch how it helps others in theirs. Most of my roommates, teammates, and even friends are not apart of my faith and that's just fine. I'm not looking to change what they believe, I just encourage them the be there best selves and to try to show them that being good isn't so bad through my own actions.
