Hi I'm Amy

I am a wife, a mom, a nurse, a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home most days Mom. I work one day a week as an RN in a rehab facility. I graduated a few years ago from nursing school. It took me 5 years to graduate from a 2 year program, but with 4 kids at home I went to school part time. I have 5 kids at home, so I don't have a lot of free time in between school, homework, piano, and sports but I read whenever I can. My favorite authors are Dean Coons and Clive Cussler- I love their writing. I love to watch the Food Network shows: Chopped, Food Truck Race, Diners and Drive Ins, and any other cooking shows. I just bought a beginner sewing machine so I am hoping that I can learn how to do a thing or two with that. Everywhere on the internet shows cute things people are making with sewing machines so I would like to learn that as well. I enjoy playing the piano. I find it is relaxing and calms me when I feel a little hectic and rushed.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. My parents are Mormon, my Grandparents are Mormon, etc. I have always known that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true and that the Book of Mormon was written by followers of Christ in ancient America. I love that I was taught to pray to my Heavenly Father when I was very young, and when I pray I can feel close to Him and know that He cares about me and my concerns. I love how being a Mormon means I am never alone in my faith that there is always someone that believes the way I do and that we have a common bond. I love how my church helps me and encourages me to teach my kids to obey the law, respect others, get an education, and to be happy. We also learn about all the scriptures at church, including the Old and New Testaments since they containing the teachings of ancient prophets and Jesus Christ and are still relevant to us today.

How I live my faith

Currently I write the women's organization newsletter. I enjoy this responsibility because it is something I can do at home when I have time. I also try to show support of other peoples responsibilities by attending planned activities and volunteering to help where I can. I believe in teaching my kids by example and if I show my kids that I am supportive, helpful, and respectful of others they will do the same. I read the scriptures daily- both by myself and with my family. Currently we are reading Corinthians. I am enjoying teaching my kids the stories of the New Testament since there are so many good lessons to learn about following Christ in those books.
