Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a born and raised Wyoming boy, I love art, learning, having fun, and... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 8 children, my house is always fun, no matter what time of the day. I love playing with my siblings. Going out doors with my family and having fun with them defiantly gives me the greatest joy. I love drawing, painting, and basically anything that has to do with art. Learning has always been a passion of mine. I love how education opens so many doors, and though it doesn't seem like it can be relevant at the time it’s completely awesome when you find an application for what you learned.

Why I am a Mormon

The greatest reason I am a Mormon... is because I love my family. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, living and applying its precepts, I can be with my family forever. This brings so much joy and gives purpose to my life! There is nothing more that I would want than to live forever with God and my family, and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, provides me with the knowledge of how I can do that. Being a Mormon, is more than just having a title of Mormon, it gives me the truth of why I'm on this earth. The Lord loves all of His Children, and blesses all of us, and knowing this just makes my day a little brighter. It gives me the desire to serve Him, and makes me want to be better. I do that by living His commandments, and by being a member of His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Service is one of the greatest blessings the Lord has given His children. I love the feeling that I get when I help others, and see their smiles of gratitude. I have been given the great privilege and opportunity to show my faith and serving my Lord, Jesus Christ, by going on a mission. For two years, I am able to teach His children and help them come closer to Him. Helping others realize that He has such great love for each and every one of them, makes me realize even more how much He loves me. There is a scripture that says "When you are in the service of your fellow man, you are only in the service of your God." I know this to be true, and there is nothing that I think can show someone's faith, than by serving others.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Ryan
The Church's law of health, commonly referred to as the Word of Wisdom, is given to us as God's children, to keep the bodies which He has given us clean and pure. The Word of Wisdom, councils us to abstain from Coffee, Harmful Drugs, Alcohol, Tea, and Tobacco. Sometimes people ask why we can't have these things, and for obvious reasons, they can harm our bodies! The best answer though is that the prophet said, and when a prophet speaks, it is really God that is speaking. I keep the Word of Wisdom, because I love the Lord, and what ever He asks me to do, I'm willing to do. Many times though, people forget that the Word of Wisdom also tells us to take care of our bodies, to eat healthy things and eat all things in moderation. The health benefits, and the ability to act for ourselves, and not be dependant on a substance, are also great things that the Lord blesses us with. Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Ryan
The Mormons are the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are commonly referred to as Mormons, because of the belief in the Book of Mormon. Another name for the Mormons could be Christians or Disciples of Christ. There are a lot of beliefs out there that say Mormons do this or that, but really they are like most everyone, they have problems, and struggles, but with their faith strongly rooted in Jesus Christ and His teachings we are given strength. Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but they are so much more than that, they are people that are striving to learn, apply, and follow Jesus Christ, because they know it can bring so much happiness in their lives.
