Hi I'm Ammon Dana

I was born and raised in Mesa Arizona, I'm 19 years old, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life began 19 years ago in the heart of Arizona. In my family I have 3 brothers and two of the best parents any one could ask for. My parents come from two different backgrounds my dad has been a member of the lds church all of his life and served his mission in Australia. My mom however was not brought up in the church. She joined when she was around the age of 21. She was baptised and later married my father. They have been married now for 27 years now and have been happy raising all of us boys! Two of my older brothers have served and are currently serving in New York, Canada, and I'm serving in Philadelphia, Penn. My little brother is still at home going to High School. A couple of facts about me are. I love the outdoors and camping. I love to play Football. I like old classic cars. With my spare time I love to spend it with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Now what made me choose to follow the church or lifestyle. Not only the fact that I was born into the faith I still had to make all of my choices for myself. At the age of 16 I started to read the Book Of Mormon. At the age I was more mature and able to understand what I was reading. So I started from the front and all things followed from there. While I was reading I found peace and a sense of joy. This made me want to know more so I read and read till the end what I found was a promise that if I praid and asked God if all of these things were true. I knelt at the side of my bed on evening late at night and began to pray. I prayed and asked if this was true and if this is what I need in my life? I prayed for a long time and when I got up I felt that same feeling when I read, peace, joy, happiness, and most of all the love of my heavenly father. Now since then ive read the book of mormon time and time again! I learn more everytime. My testimony has grown and I know for a fact that God liives and that Jesus is the christ. Through the prprhet Joseph Smith truth was restored to the earth once again. I know that my family will be together forever. I'm serving a mission because I know what the Gospel of Jesus Christ will do for someone. What better joy would it be to be severing God. I know these things are true and there's no other way.

How I live my faith

Like I said above I'm serving a full time mission in Philadelphia. This opportunity has given me the chance of a lifetime to serve others and help people come closer to god. I would devote all of my time to serve one of Gods children, even if its only one persons life that'll change from the gospel. I know I'm not perfect but if I try my best and do all thats expected of me I will feel the love that god has for me.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Ammon Dana
A testimony is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost. The foundation of a Mormon’s testimony is the knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that He carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is a prophet, which God called to restore Jesus Christ’s church to the earth; that we are led today by a living prophet; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s Church restored on the earth today.
