Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a dreamer. I'm an animal-lover. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended the University of Colorado Denver to study Psychology, Sociology, and Communication. I now work at a psych hospital. I love to help people, especially those who are unable to help themselves. I'm a single mother of a little girl born earlier this year. I love to read books and watch movies. I love anything fantasy or fiction. I love to laugh and sing. Music is one thing I couldn't live without. Animals are a passion. I love my family and friends. They mean the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I haven't always been interested in continuing. I wasn't active for most of my adolescence. As a young adult my activity has faltered off and on as well. But every time I live without the Gospel I find how much I miss it. I always believe in its truth. I think it's amazing to know that my Father in Heaven loves me. He loves me unconditionally. No matter how much I screw up (and that is often) he will always love me and walk beside me. I wake up every morning knowing that my life has a purpose. I know why I'm here and where I'm going. And I know all this because of the Gospel. I want to make my Heavenly Father proud. I want to return to him. I want to be happy here in my mortal life and I know that the way to happiness is by following the Gospel. The Church teaches us to serve our Lord by serving and loving others. I've found this to be a sure way to feel good about my life. I work every day to be my best. I will make mistakes. We all will. But Heavenly Father loves us all so much he will always provide a way back to him. All we have to do is the best we can. I'm a Mormon because this is the true Church of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by working every day to love and serve others. I try to remember that we are all here facing different trials and tribulations. It's not my job to judge. It's my job to love. I try to do all I can for those around me. I give without expecting anything in return. I also live my faith by trying my best to keep the commandments. I have found that I am happiest when I succeed. But I know that failure is only temporary if I repent and find my way back.
