Hi I'm Rob

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. My greatest joy in life comes from spending time with my family. I enjoy a good book. I know my way around the barbeque pit. I am a competitive powerlifter and hold the 242 pound weight class state record bench press with a lift of 600 pounds.

Why I am a Mormon

My family joined the church generations ago. My parents participated faithfully. I enjoyed Sunday school and mid-week activities with my friends as a small boy and Boy Scouts as a teenager. At 17, I wanted to know for myself if the church was true. I made it a point to read the Book of Mormon on my own with the intention of asking Heavenly Father for my own spiritual witness. When I finished the book, I prayed to ask God if it was true. As I asked the question, I felt an unmistakable feeling of confidence and assurance that it was the truth. This experience helped to set the course for my life. I have felt that same feeling many times since then as I sing inspired hymns, pray, or listen to church leaders.

How I live my faith

I teach a class full of 11 and 12 year-olds on Sunday at church. During the week, I am called to teach a bible class to young people who are locked up in a juvenile justice center. These are kids who have made some serious mistakes and are paying the price for it. The teachings of Christ encourage the kids to change. Every week, the students come in hard and rough and as we pray and study together their hearts become tender and their eyes get wet. They are always touched and grateful for the message.
