Hi I'm Christal

I raised my family in Arizona, USA. I love sewing and playing with my grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite thing in the world is to play with my grandchildren. When not doing that I attend a local college and am finishing up a degree that will allow me to teach my favorite hobby- sewing! I have taught music and art in a grade school and prior to that I was busy raising 6 children. Our family loves music and a family sing-a-long is a treat we look forward to.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I was born in this church and so were many of my ancestors - on one side of my family. On the other side some family members were taught by missionaries and then chose to join the church. I have discovered, though, that each of us has to decide at some point whether or not we believe personally what we have been taught - whether we were taught as children at home, or by missionaries at another time in our live, we have to choose. I am a Mormon because I have come to believe that this church has a fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many wonderful people and wonderful churches and organizations that do great good in the world. I am a member of some of those organizations. But The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints completes my faith, answers my questions, soothes my soul and gives me hope for greater things to come. I am a Mormon because I believe it with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Boy Scouts (of America) for many years. I have loved watching this great organization serve and teach values to good young men of all faiths. I have enjoyed watching as these young men then go back to their homes and families and bring an added measure of goodness with them. I have often been asked to play the piano in different church meetings and occassionally I will also conduct the singing. I have had the great opportunity to teach sacred music to the very young children. I keep in touch with several women in our church through Visiting Teaching. These ladies don't attend the meetings, or welcome visitors, but I try to write to them and let them know that we miss them and hope things are going ok for them.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The sheer joy of a birds song in the morning to announce the new day is an affirmation to me that a Divine Creator loves His children so much that He even has a musical welcome for them everyday! I have had prayers answered in small and simple and in great and amazing ways. But most of all I know there is a God because of the way I feel about Him in my heart. You know how it feels to have a trusted and loving and giving friend? Well that is how I feel about my Heavenly Father. Feelings such as love and empathy are as real as any tangible thing. It is a feeling that tells me that He is there, that He loves me and that through Him all things are possible. Show more Show less
