Hi I'm Greg

I love the adrenaline rush of being a thrill seeker, but I'm not a risk taker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 5 kids and am happily married for 18 years. I love cycling long distances and I love mountain biking, but feel they are very different. I go regularly with friends on mountain climbing expeditions, backcountry skiing is a bonus on these outings. I have recently started fly fishing, something I did in college. I've also started sailing and am taking scuba diving lessons next month. I've found TV, movies and most forms of entertainment to be boring and non entertaining. If it's not outdoors, I probably don't do very much of it. I have been through a lot of schooling but now enjoy the benefits those years of education and hard work are bringing. I love being with other people, but not so much in large groups. Most of all I love doing stuff outdoors with my family. I want to be a better Dad and a better husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I feel it helps me to be a better person in my home, in my community, in the nation and the world. It is a foundation that I feel I can rely on and build upon. I'm a member because I know there is a God and I feel this church teaches correct principles and allows it's members to govern themselves. I believe God listens to my prayers and answers them. My parents and siblings are members as well. Sometimes being a member feels hard, but when I look at what others go through, I feel the church helps me avoid common mistakes and realize that not being a member or at least not following the principles, may actually be harder.

How I live my faith

I attend church on weekly basis. I help young men in Boy Scouts and other activities. I try and be kind, loving and forgiving to those I meet. I try and live a life like Jesus Christ would live if He were here. I am busy with kids and their activities and am busy taking care of other needs around the house. My wife and I support each other in our activities outside the home as well. I try and be an equal partner with my wife and love her in every way. I live my faith by doing and acting on what I feel is right, not what the world tells me they think is right.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

There are several purposes to this life. One large purpose is to obtain a physical body. A body enables us to have experiences and learn and grow in ways we could not have as spiritual beings. Another important purpose is to learn by trial and error, to learn by making correct and incorrect choices. In learning this way we learn what we truly want. There are many other purposes but in my mind these are 2 of the most important. Show more Show less
