Hi I'm Charles

I grew up in Idaho, went to school and married my wife in Oregon. Then moved my family to Texas with my career. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of some wonderful children that provide me plenty to do when I am not working as a software project manager. On the best days I enjoy a simple date with my wife. I have always had a curiosity for how things work and believe that is what drove me into the engineering field. I started my schooling as an electrical engineer before switching to information technology and software engineering. Some day I would love to play the cello but will likely settle for just listening to those who have already developed that talent.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happier and my life feels like it has more meaning when I am striving to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was born into a Mormon family and baptized a member when I was eight years old. I still remember that day even though it has been many many years ago. I remember this day because of the good feelings I had then. On many more occasions since then I have felt the Holy Spirit confirm the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the reality of the restoration of his church on the earth today. I believe that we have a loving heavenly father that wants nothing more than to abundantly bless us and help us grow and mature through our earthly experiences. I am grateful for our savior Jesus Christ making it possible for us to be forgiven for our transgressions and return to our heavenly father again as an eternal heavenly family.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by caring for my own relationship with my Father in Heaven through personal prayers and reading scriptures. My next priority is around the spiritual and physical well being of my family. This comes in many forms but my favorite lately is just taking the time to slow down and try to really listen to how their day has been. At the beginning of every school year I always offer them a fathers blessing to help them start the year. It starts out with just the children going to school but then everyone wants a turn. Finally, in the church I have the opportunity to serve as a councilor to the president of one of our men’s programs in the church. This gives me the chance to organize and oversee service activities and fellowshipping programs. I really do enjoy working with the great members of the church and those we have been able to serve. I enjoyed serving a two year mission in the southern Arizona area where I was able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
