Hi I'm Gina

I'm a stay-at-home Mom, an (almost) Nana, an avid reader and scrapbooker, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home empty-nester Mom, with a college kid and two married children...and one granddaughter on the way! I graduated from college with a degree in Interior Design and have been married for 27 years to a great man. I have a lot of freedom right now which I use in taking care of my Mother, ministering to the women in my Church, scrapbooking, reading and home-improvement projects. I also belong to a book club and a gourmet cooking club, and enjoy jogging-just not too often! I adore my family and exploring the gorgeous part of the world I am blessed to live in.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this Church my whole life, and my belief in this Gospel has come to me piece by piece over the years. My testimony of Christ and the truth of the Gospel can be compared to years of delicious dinners; some meals may be remembered as magnificent, some as simply average-but each one contributes to the nourishment of the body. I have had significant witnesses from the Holy Spirit that this is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ-experiences that are sacred to me and very powerful. Even more important, however, are the daily, weekly, simple joys that come as I obey the commandments and honor my commitments to Jesus Christ. These have nourished the strong foundation that I have wherein I can testify with all certainty that Jesus Christ lived with Heavenly Father, that He lived on the Earth, and that He still lives with our Heavenly Father now and is concerned solely with our salvation. I am so grateful for the constant growth I experience by coming to Church every week, learning with others in my Church "family", reading His holy word at home, and praying for the Holy Spirit to teach me of the truth of these things. God lives and loves me, Jesus Christ lives and loves me, and this is His Church. I thank Him for the blessings this knowledge has given my husband and I, and the strength it gives us in raising our children and experiencing joy!

How I live my faith

Serving others in your church "family" is such a joy; there are lessons to be learned by "giving back" and the wonderful interaction with others. We learn to be like Jesus as we minister to each other and ask for the Lord's blessings and help in the assignments we want to fulfill. I have served in many capacities through the years, and I'm grateful I've had the opportunity to experience so many different ways to serve. I've taught small children about Jesus through music and through lessons; playing and singing with children is great fun, and they have such beautiful feelings about Jesus Christ. I have taught teenage girls for many years, and found this to be my favorite place to serve. They are funny, wise, loving and a joy to be with! I am serving now with the adult women; providing them with weekday activities to enhance their love of the Savior, give them opportunities to serve, and offer them chances to connect with each other. Each lady has a different story to tell, trials and difficulties they have overcome with the Savior's help-these are things that make me love them and love my Savior. My husband and I also participate in other service opportunities, whether it's helping with an Eagle Scout project or cleaning in the community. Serving together is a wonderful way to build a marriage because it allows the two of you to be a part of something bigger than yourself, and causes you to be very grateful for your own blessings!
