Hi I'm Zack

I am a father of 5, an Author, and I love to be creative. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful women and we have five beautiful children. I really enjoy doing anything creative either with my hands or my mind. Whether it is writing or woodworking, I love to create. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is watch movies. Whether at home on the comfy couch or at the theatres you there is nothing like a good movie.

Why I am a Mormon

It would be easy to say I am a Mormon because my parents are, but it is deeper than that. Even growing up in a Mormon home there came a time when I had to know for myself if the lifestyle I was living and the commitments I was making were correct. I really felt that the way I was living was bringing me joy, but I had to know in my heart that it was true. I remember really pleading with my Heavenly Father to know in my heart of the truthfulness of His gospel. That night it was confirmed what I already knew, that this was his plan and that I would continue to find happiness if I followed it. Now as a husband and a father, I know my life would be more difficult without the teachings and guidance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some days life is really challenging. There is so much noise in the world around me and there are so many voices trying to pull me this way and that. It is the feeling that I get when I can be at home and close those things out that lets me know I am making the right choices. It helps me sift through the noise and find peace and joy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ, for me, is the one constant in a world that is ever changing. I feel blessed everyday for receiving my answer to prayer as an eighteen year-old.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is not just something you do each Sunday. I have been lucky to have had several different responsibilities assigned by the church. A lot of those have revolved around the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Working with boys not only from my congregation, but that live in the neighborhood. It is rewarding to see the boys learn and grow in the principles of Scouting as well as the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each day brings different opportunities, whether it is casually visiting a few families from the congregation to share a message or a hand of service...or simply kneeling down with my family morning and night to give thanks for our blessings and to ask for things that we need. I strive to have the decisions I make on a daily basis be a reflection of how I live my faith.
