Hi I'm Shelly

I enjoy traveling, I work for a manufacturing company, I love being a grandmother and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love my family, my country, music and delicious food!. My family is my greatest treasure and spending time with them brings me joy. I love huge American flags on breezy days, patriotic events and visiting historic places. Learning about the past makes me appreciate the sacrifices that others have made and how blessed I am to have so many luxuries available to me. I can't imagine a day without music. Songs have a way of saying things better than average words. I think I can come up with a song for just about any situation or topic.... just ask my kids! Oh and food.... I believe life is delicious! I just hope there is food in heaven because it truly is a pleasure. I try new recipes on my family and they are good sports. Is there anything better than hot homemade rolls with real butter, or huge bowl of homemade ice cream. My favorite food..... ummmm would have to be Italian! Homemade pasta.... delicious! I few more things; I attend a Zumba class twice weekly, love to meet new people, like funny movies and treasure old friendships.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful each day for my membership in the Mormon Church. Knowing who I am and why I am on the earth gives me peace even on hectic days. I know I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father and a Heavenly Mother who love me. Being a parent has heightened my awareness of how deep love can really be. I am grateful for agency. That I am allowed to make mistakes and that I can be forgiven for them. I am grateful the true gospel has been restored on the earth. I love the scriptures that teach about Christ’s church in ancient time. They give me perspective of how my Heavenly Father is constant and never changing. I am thankful for modern day prophets, for Joseph Smith and his courage to do incredibly hard things. That he was able to restore the church on the earth today. Each time I read the account of the witnesses of the Book of Mormon, the spirit reconfirms the truthfulness of it to me. I love to read the New Testament and learn of the Saviors life, and I can learn so much from the stories of the Old Testament, but the spirit of the Book of Mormon is what draws me to it time and again. I am grateful for my grandmother who listened to two young Mormon missionaries so many years ago in Kentucky. It is because of her ability to listen to the spirit that I have the church in my life today. I love the seminary program of the church. It was in seminary that I gained my own solid testimony of the truth of the gospel. It was in seminary where I learned to recognize the spirit. I am grateful I had the church and its teachings to help me raise my children, to focus on what is really important. I live a truly blessed life. Because of the blessings of the temple, we can be a forever family... I cannot think of anything better that !

How I live my faith

I am blessed to teach nine year olds on Sunday's. I am trying to help them recognize the spirit that they too can know for themselves that they have a loving Father in Heaven who is aware of their needs.
