Hi I'm Jim

I grew up in Southern California, played the guitar and loved to go to the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I own a litigation consulting firm and help people tell their stories in courtrooms across the country. I have the self proclaimed title "The Doctor of Technology" because I can get the job done right:-) My motto is "Whatever it takes to get the job done!" That's pretty much the way I try to live my life. I have a beautiful wife, children and many grandchildren. I know it's hard to believe but it's true. I love to play the guitar and sing and just plain have fun. If it's not fun it's not worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Mormon church when I was 19 years of age. Suddenly at the age of 18 I became very unhappy in my life. I seemed to have it all but I had lingering questions about what happens to me when I die. It deeply troubled me, even though I grew up in the Catholic faith I couldn't seem to get my questions answered. I started reading the bible and read "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" I thought God? Who is God? And why would he send me here to go through this experience. I looked to the ceiling and said "God if your there please help me because I don't believe in you. You make no sense at all! Less than 2 weeks later one of my best friends was going to the visitors center at the Los Angeles Temple. I asked if I could go and he said sure. There I was taught about the visit of God the Father and his son Jesus Christ to the boy Joseph Smith and the Saviors visit to this american continent anciently in the Book of Mormon. I watched a movie called "Mans search for happiness". As I watched that movie I felt a peace beyond understanding. It answered all my questions about where I came from, why I was here and where I was going after this life. I was given a Book of Mormon and took it home and tried to read it. I read the first 13 chapters with no major impressions. I took a couple of missionary lessons and then just put it aside for a few months. After a few months of drifting back into my old ways I became unhappy again and thought "You know God gave me direction and I felt unbelieveable peace and I have just ignored it. I took out the Book of Mormon and for 2 nights in succession read it intently following the Promise of the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5. I really wanted to know if this book was true. As I looked things up in the index like, faith, repentence, baptism, following the Savior, a poweful feeling surged through my body that was a physical/spiritual witness to me of the truthfulness of that Book. I joined the church!!

How I live my faith

I had many other witnesses of the truthfulness of the church and from that time to this I have tried to Live the Gospel by serving, sharing and helping those in need. It has been the best self help program in the world. Serve others and you will be happy! I currently teach a church class once a month and am a ward missionary. I help with missionary activities when needed. I want others to know the joy and peace that can come from knowing the true purpose of life and living the Gospel. I once was lost and now I'm found. I am so grateful that someone cared enough about me to teach me who I truly am. I know who I am, where I came from and where I'm going when this life is over. For this I am truly grateful!!
