Hi I'm Holly

Firstly and by choice, I am a wife and mother. I study the developing mind, and I teach undergraduates. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of one, a mother of three, a sister of four, a daughter of five, a bonus-sister of seventeen, and an aunt of twenty-nine (and counting). I find joy in caring for my precious children as my primary vocation. I love a home well-ordered and happy, and I am blessed to be a wife and mother. I dearly love my siblings and parents, and I am enriched by our families' growth. I enjoy creating order out of chaos. I find this joy in teaching others, strengthening relationships with my family, keeping and adding beauty to my home, and organizing my thoughts through study.

Why I am a Mormon

I actively yoke myself to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I believe in its tenants, and I have had personal spiritual witness of the truth of this church's teachings. Specifically, fundamentals of the LDS doctrine that are cemented in my mind and heart are those of the Book of Mormon, the nature of the Godhead, and continued revelation through prophets. When I read the Book of Mormon, I find my mind quickened by the Holy Ghost. I am able to see life's mysteries in a renewed light. I understand better my purpose in life and I gain a perspective of hope and peace. I find answers to my countless inquisitions when I humbly approach the scriptures, take them into my heart, and allow them to ruminate there unfettered by sour doubt. No where else have I found such understanding and power to guide my daily choices as I have when reading the Book of Mormon regularly. I feel personally connected to my Heavenly Father. I know he loves me as his daughter. As I grow as a parent, this relationship brings new meaning to me. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ as my Savior and redeemer. I know he is God's literal Son. When I pray to the Father in Jesus's name, I know my prayers are heard and answered. The Holy Spirit confirms this to me. Also, the Spirit teaches me through guidance and wisdom communicated through clarity to my mind and peace in my heart. I testify that as God has always loved his children, he has always provided revelation and guidance to them. His prophets led anciently, in more recent times, and today. I seek their words, knowing they speak truth learned from God. I also testify of the reality of personal revelation. I know that God knows me and guides me through the Spirit as I seek Him. As I follow the promptings of the Spirit, my ability to recognize these promptings increases and I am enabled, through the atonement of Jesus Christ, to change and be more than I was before.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I am called to serve the women in our ward. I truly see them as my family of "sisters." We organize service projects, discuss scripture, develop talents, and form a strengthening community of strong, beautiful women.
