Hi I'm Kim!

I'm a twin, an auntie, a pre- sister missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

iHola! I recently opened my mission call to the Arizona Mesa mission and the Mesa Temple visitor's center, speaking Spanish, reporting to the MTC the beginning of September. SO SOON! I was blessed to be surrounded by my family, on Mother's Day weekend, to open my call. My twin and I flipped a coin to see who would open their call first... She won, but having patience is a Christ-like attribute, am I right? And I was so extremely happy to watch her open her call to the Washington Everett mission. My darling sister leaves just a week after me to report to her mission! I am so thankful to have the opportunity now to prepare with her. Really, she has been my companion throughout our whole lives, she has served me in countless ways and is a great example to me of being a disciple of Christ. My entire family has been such an amazing support as I prepare for my mission! I know that they are all there for me with encouragement, advice, and love. They all mean so much to me, and I will miss them as I serve, but I am happy to be sending some blessings home to them. I feel that I owe this opportunity that I have to serve, to them. I am so thankful for the way they have raised me, all along I have been taught to be kind, patient, and help others, I have been taught the importance of baptism and going to the temple, I have been shown miracles, I have been given so much by them. So that sums me up, there is not anything I love more than my mission calling, and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I cannot explain to you how excited I am to go and serve the Lord and my brothers and sisters in the AZ Mesa mission, but I can explain to you why I feel the desire to go on a mission! I have moments in my life where I have been stronger in my faith, and moments where I haven’t been as strong. Looking back on these moments, I can tell, as clear as day, that I was not as happy of a person when I wasn’t striving to serve the Lord. Without Him as a goal, it is natural to be just self-serving and very unhappy. I know that living this true gospel brings me joy beyond expression, it is a sense of entire fulfillment that I cannot find anywhere else. I know this because I have put the time in to seeking, thinking, and praying for direction. I know that this church is Christ’s true gospel with His teachings. I know that it is where I need to be, and what I need to share with others. I am so absolutely sure that this gospel has the answers to everything we need. I know that I am on this Earth to show my loving Heavenly Father and my older brother, Christ, what I am willing to do for them. With this knowledge, I see it as my responsibility to bring others to Christ and to be a missionary. I want to serve my mission to share this wonderful message to others. To bring them to the fullness and completeness that I feel when I consider the Book of Mormon and my relationship with Christ. I have seen this gospel change people, and I know that it has changed me. It changes us for the better. The gospel has helped me to realize my potential as I have a direct connection in spirit to God. That is an empowering and encouraging knowledge to have, because I know that I can accomplish anything as I do it in the name of Christ.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is when I show Christ that I am trying to be like Him. I can show Christ my love and commitment to Him when I regularly pray to God and when I study my scriptures. I show faith when I pay my tithing. I show my faith when I am considerate in my words to others. I show faith when I act with honesty and integrity. I show faith when I meet a new friend, or when I start a new semester at school. I show faith when I follow the promptings that I receive from the Holy Ghost, even when I am unsure what will happen, I know to trust the inspirations from the Spirit because I am being directed by God’s will. I show faith when I go to the temple. I am so grateful to have been surrounded by family as I received my endowment in the Idaho Falls Temple. I have never felt closer to my family and my Father in Heaven, then I did as I was endowed. I continually feel that closeness to God when I enter His temples. This familiar comfort helps to guide and teach me through sessions. The temple helps to increase my faith, I love it! I have faith that I can leave my family, my college career, my friends, and my jobs, for 18 months to serve my mission because I know that is God’s plan for me. I know that when I put faith and trust in the Lord, that I will not be deceived or mislead. I know that He loves me and that He listens to my needs when I pray in His name. I feel a real closeness to Heavenly Father and Christ when I live my faith.
