Hi I'm Sue

I'm a 65 year-old retired school teacher and Registered Nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Though never blessed with children, I have three beautiful step-daughters whom I love as though they were my own. I've been married to their wonderful father for 32 years and look forward to many more years together. I enjoy walking, dancing, and playing cards with him. We have friends and family - Mormons and non-Mormons- with whom we enjoy spending time. I enjoy learning new things and hope to continue learning and growing as long as I'm able. I love to read and am now at this age just learning to sew.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have been a Christian all my life, in later years I had stopped going to church. I still prayed and loved God and Jesus but had become disillusioned in organized religion. All of a sudden some of my loved ones were aging and dying. I started feeling a need to return to worshipping with others and so started attending a neighborhood church. I left the services feeling empty and disappointed. In the meantime, I had met many wonderful people and some of them just happened to be Mormons. Through the years I had heard unfavorable things about Mormons so I was happily surprised to find that they were such honest, loving, and good people. I felt really drawn to them. I started asking questions and eventually attended a Sunday Sacrament Service with two Mormon friends. When I walked in the door and sat down I felt so welcomed and at home. I felt as though Heavenly Father had His loving arms wrapped around me and was comforting me. I had such a feeling of peace and joy. i knew that this was where I belonged. I learned that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly a Christian Church. In November of 2007 my husband and I were Baptized into the Church. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Church. Having Jesus Christ as my Savior and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought me many blessings, great joy, and peace.

How I live my faith

I enjoy all the opportunities to grow spiritually and personally, provided by this church. I love teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Sunday School, church services, and to my fellow sisters in their homes. I love the service opportunities in homes and in the community. I feel closer to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father than ever before in my life. Pondering the scriptures, praying, and serving others have truly blessed my life.
