Hi I'm Kate

I grew up in Kansas. I have four brothers and love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student and I'm loving life! I have four brothers and no sisters, and I absolutely love my new job as an aunt! I love to play tennis and watch pretty much any sports game. A real hobby of mine is watching movies with friends and I love to be goofy. I really like American history and government as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that doesn't mean I didn't choose to be a Mormon. I distinctively remember being about 13 when I first had a real desire to know for myself if this was the right church or not. It was as I was reading a passage in the Book of Mormon about King Lamoni and his conversion that I found out. The words Ammon taught hit me fast and hard. He says "And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth me knowledge, and also power according to my faith and desires which are in God." --(Alma 18:35). This verse made me realize that because I had a desire to know the truth, the Spirit can give me that knowledge. It also reminded me of the verse that Joseph Smith read that prompted him to question which church to join (James 1:5). I knelt in prayer and an overwhelming feeling came over me and testified to me that this church is true. The scriptures are true. The prophet, Thomas S. Monson, is a real prophet of God. I know all of this to be true. Jesus Christ is my Redeemer, and it is through faith in Him that I can be saved.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my church ward by serving as a visiting teacher and as a Sunday School teacher. I try my hardest to read my scriptures and say my prayers daily. I love having the opportunity to go to church every Sunday and participating in the fun ward activities!
