Hi I'm Jenn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home-mother of two school age children and a part time college student. I am very blessed that my husband is a wonderful provider that allows me to be home when the kids get out of school and to attend my college classes. I love working on family history/genealogy, watching the Yankees, reading and traveling. But what I love the best is spending time with my family and serving/helping others, when ever I possibly can. I can't explain the joy I feel when I have the opportunity to help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had the privilege of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I love this church and I love the sense of belonging as well as the friendships I make through out the church. I have a very good core of friends with great values and morals. I find great joy and happiness through the church's teachings and the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me. I am very grateful for a living prophet today and for the missionaries and for the way that this church helps those in need whether they are a member or not. Most of all, I love being a member of this church because I know that no matter what hardships may fall on my doorstep, I have the power of prayer, the scriptures, fellow church members and Heavenly Father to help me every step of the way. Attending church on Sundays, as well as the temple, help to ease my mind and burdens, uplift my day, bring me happiness and bring me a sense of calmness which is hard to do in the every day world of chaos we live in. When ever I don't feel like going to the temple or to church, that's when I know with out a doubt that I need to be there. On those days when I go my whole attitude changes and my day goes so much better and I'm so much happier for doing so.

How I live my faith

I teach the 10-year-old's on Sunday about gospel teachings. I also help teach and do fun activities with the young girls in our church ages 8-11 once a month. We learn a bit about the gospel and we teach them how to develop their talents and learn new skills such as cooking, baking, crafts and developing Christ like attributes. I'm also in charge of the compassionate service work in our ward for anyone who is sick/hospital, has a baby, newly moves in to the area, has a wedding reception or a funeral. I help in whatever capacity is needed of me at the time. I also help others, when called upon, to get meals to them or to a funeral service even when they are not members of the church. I love to serve in any way i can no matter who you are or what it's for. I also live my faith by trying to set a good example for my children and husband, who is not a member. I attend church, hold family prayers, attend the temple, scripture study, and family nights. I basically try to show my children the importance of living and choosing the right and by having good standards and a core belief that they can carry with them all of their lives.
