Hi I'm Char

I am a mom of 4 and a grandma of 6. I am a Mormon. I love being a Grandmother and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

My pride and joy are my children and grand children. 6 years ago I lost my youngest daughter to cancer. She was 17. I really miss her. But my other children and my grandchildren need me. I have a quote on my wall from Abraham Lincoln. "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that matter, it's the life in your years". It makes me think of her, Gordon B. Hinckley, Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ. The New Era shared her story in the January 2007 issue. "A Girl Called Nine", page 44. She had a motto that she lived by. Whenever she was asked, "how come you always have a smile", she would answer, "I can either laugh about it or cry about it and I choose to laugh". I remind myself and her siblings often when we are struggling with adversity and I ask,"what do you choose"?

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ live. I know they love me. And I know they love my daughter. I believe her mission on earth was complete and she was needed on the other side. I know that because of the Plan of Salvation, we will live together again as a family. My mission must not be complete, so I need to get busy and do the things that I promised Heavenly Father I would do when I said, "Send Me". I know there is purpose for me on earth. I chose to be here. Although it is hard, and I question sometimes why Heavenly Father did not save my daughter, because I believe He could, but He won't, I believe it would void or forfeit His Plan of Salvation that I wanted to come to earth for. It's all a part of why we're here. I choose to be here on earth. And I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a substitute teacher at my neighborhood Elementary. I teach the 4 year old children in Sunday School. I work at the Mesa, Arizona Temple every Saturday morning. I love being in the Temple. I love the spirit that I feel there. I love when my grandchildren come over. I am so blessed to live near them and so grateful that my children ask me to help out a lot with them. I am the happiest when I am with them. They help me find JOY in my journey.
