Hi I'm Clint

I was raised in Eastern Washington, I'm studying to be a dentist, I'm a husband and father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mesa, Arizona, and moved to Washington when I was eight. I grew up in a small farming community working a variety of jobs as a teenager including working in cherry orchards, working with alfalfa, feeding cows, auto detailing, mowing lawns, retail, and at the nuclear reactor at the Hanford site. I served a two year mission teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I studied biology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I met and fell in love with a public health major from Florida who I married. We are big BYU football and basketball fans and attended many games while at school there. I applied to several dental schools and was accepted to the University of Washington where I am currently working towards a DDS degree. I'm learning to love the Huskies too. After about four years of marriage we were blessed with a healthy baby boy who recently celebrated his first birthday.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a freshman in high school I started reading the Book of Mormon. I had read from the book many times before, but this time I was determined to read it daily. After several days I knelt one night by my bed to pray and as I prayed I felt an overwhelming sensation of joy like I hadn't felt before. In Galatians chapter 5 verses 22 and 23 it teaches that the fruits of the Spirit are "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." I am a Mormon because studying and following the teachings of the Bible, Book of Mormon, and modern day prophets bring the fruits of the spirit into my life. Just like that night when I was a freshman I continue to find joy and comfort through the scriptures and prayer.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed by my associations with other members of the Church throughout the years. I try to reach out and bless the lives of those around me whether of my faith or not. Through the Church I currently am involved in the scouting program and am amazed at the intelligence and drive of the youth I work with. I have enjoyed a variety of activities with them including service projects, educational activities, sports and fitness activities, and some activities that we have done just for fun. I also have the opportunity to prepare and teach lessons on gospel topics to the youth on Sundays. While I teach these lessons I can see the faith and love for our Savior that the rising generation has. As economic uncertainty, political turmoil, and natural disasters seem to be ever present I find that as we work together to bear one another's burdens we can overcome disaster in all its forms. I love the Savior and hope to better emulate him in love and service to all.
