Hi I'm Doug Viste

I grew up in a rural setting, moved to the big city and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an engineer at heart and migrated over the years from working on cars to programming computers. Hobbies have also shifterd fom music making to video making. I'm a husband and a dad.

Why I am a Mormon

In my mid twenties, I turned self-reflective and philosophical...looking for a lifestyle that was "sustainable" over my lifetime. Religion seemed a good source of information, so I attended many different churches looking for answers. The doctrine as taught at the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was, in comparison, A) more complicated and B) more complete. My twenty-eight years of church membership have been rewarding, joyous, and fulfilling.

How I live my faith

Normal LDS here...familiy home evening Monday, Mutual Wednesday, Date night Friday, clean the church Saturday and attend church Sunday.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

You don't get fancy balustrades, professional entertainers, powerful amps or savory meals. You do get a bunch of nice people worshipping their God and trying to reconcile their life to His will. Show more Show less
