Hi I'm Tom

I am an Industrial Contractor. I am a Husband, a father of 4 amazing children and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Industrial General Contractor. I work in the Mines and Power Plants. I have been building specialized equipment and process plants for 28 Years. I pride myself in doing quality work and building things that last, with a sense of ownership. Like my professional life, I have also worked with the Young Mens organization for 28 years. I love working with the youth, focusing on the potential of what they can become rather than where they are currently. I pride myself in the building of Honorable Young Men. Young Men that will contribute to life and the community. My greatest work is done in the home. I feel a sacred responsibility to raise my family to love God and to understand the role of Jesus Christ in their lives. And to support them and teach them the value of work and compassion for their fellowman. My favorite saying is: " Evil prevails when righteous men do nothing."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrines that are taught make sense to me. I am a mechanical person. Thing fit or they don't fit. In my mind there is a right and wrong and not much room for gray. The gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Mormon church makes sense, it answers life questions, it doesn't say one thing and means another. The questions that I have always had about religion have been answered in the Mormon faith. I guess the biggest reason I am a Mormon is because of how it feels. I believe that each of us are blessed from birth with the ability to know right and wrong. I know that the things I believe are right. That God is a Father in Heaven who loves us and wants us to succeed. He wants good things for us and wants us to be happy. He has provided a way for us to be happy and return to him some day. And that is what I want, is to be with him again.

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday School teacher. I teach High School Senior age kids. I love helping them learn about life and what is ahead of them. And how they can apply the gospel of Jesus Christ to their lives and the guide that it can be to them. I read the scriptures every day. Usually in the Morning. I love figuring out the message that the scriptures have for me. The application to my life and the problems that I have each day. It is amazing how real the answers and how timely they can be in life, day to day. I go to church each Sunday. I love the things that I learn. It helps me recharge my batteries. Sometimes life can be hard and at times very difficult. Church helps me to put life's challenges into perspective. It gives me the tools I need to identify solutions and answers. I pray often. Several times a day. I communicate with my Heavenly Father and he answers through the prompting of the spirit. I use to think that praying was a thing that religious fanatics did. But my prayers are personal, just like a conversation between me and God. Nothing fanatical. I know that he heres my prayers and answers me when I am ready to listen. Pray really works.
