Hi I'm Ashlee

I'm a wife, a mother, a hairdresser, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Arizona my whole life. I love it! I met my husband while I was in high school. I had no idea then that I would get to spend eternity with him. I was raised with the belief that God existed, that's where it stopped. I knew a lot of mormons in high school, but didn't know much about the religion. When he asked if I'd be interested in learning more, I agreed to meet with the missionaries. It was such a relief learning I was a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and He had a plan for me. 4 months later I was married and my husband baptized me. We are celebrating our 7th year of marriage this fall. We have two energetic boys and a sweet little girl. I stay home with my kids 6 days a week, I work in my salon 1-2 days, I love to craft and decorate my house, I love planning activities for the young women in my ward, I love spending time with my best friend (my husband) and our kids, I love the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 18 years old. I was set up on a date by my mom with the tech who worked with her in physical therapy. I knew he was mormon, but didn't fully appreciate what that meant. On our second date he told me he wouldn't settle for a life without the gospel. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything if I talked to the missionaries, I needed to know why he was so passionate about this specific christian church, what made them different? As soon as we started talking about it, I could feel the difference, The Holy Spirit confirmed in my heart I was making right choices. I kept taking the disscusion and reading the Book of Mormon and feeling more and more of my Heavenly Fathers love for me. I know that He helps us when we need Him. I know I can read the scriptures, and because there is a prophet on the earth today, the meaning of those scriptures have one meaning; and it's what Heavenly Father has intended for us to know. The meanings never change. I know when I'm not at church, someone notices because they care. Im not one of thousands of revolving faces, Im not another dollar in a chair. I know that if I do my best to do what is right, I can live with Him agian. I know where I've been, why I'm here, and where I'm going.

How I live my faith

I've held many callings since I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Right now I am working with the young women ages 12-18. I love it! I have such an awsome group of girls. We have activities that we do each week with them called Mutual. My comittee and I try to gear the activites towords things they want to learn, or a life skill they need to know, or something that just lets them (and the leaders) be silly. We try to teach them leadership, how to be accountable for themselves, to love eachother and themselves. Mutual is a place they can come and not be judged because of what they are or aren't wearing, who their friends are at school, its a positive enviroment that allows them to feel comfortable in their own skin. Every summer they get to participate in Girls Camp, which is AWESOME! Its 5days of camping, with no boys, minor luxuries, lots of singing and games, service projects, survival skills, gospel learning, testimony builing experiences, and girl power bonding. Throughout the year there are mini retreats to help remind the girls of those feelings they had at camp, and help them continue to learn more about themselves and the gospel. I LOVE this calling! We really try to confirm to the girls that they are a beloved daughter of God, worthy of all the blessings He has for them. They are more precious than ruby's.
