Teri: Mormon.

Hi I'm Teri

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 4 beautiful children. I love to meet new people. I love the outdoors. I love cooking and scrapbooking and reading. I love to travel. Friends and family are so important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I gained my own testimony when I was 16. It was in my seminary class and we were having a lesson on the Savior Jesus Christ and his life. The teacher passed a picture of the Savior on the cross and I had a over whelming feeling of the spirit testifying to me that he is REAl! That all I had and was learning about was true and that the scriptures are true. I feel very blessed to have sent out not only my wonderful husband when he served his mission but also 3 children have had the blessing of serving missions. I know that for a young man of 19 years old to give up his life for the Lord for 2 years tells me that the Church is true. I also know that as a mother being able to send them out on their missions and turning them over to the Lord for those two years has been the greatest blessing in my life and my families.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

I love Sundays! In fact I wish that everyday could be a Sunday. When I go to Church, I come home feeling so uplifted and good inside. I love learning of Heavenly Father and his Son the Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel so good inside as I partake of the Sacrament and renew the coveants I made with my Heavenly Father. To know what the atonement does for me and everyone else gives me such a great love for Jesus Christ and all he went through for me. I know that he loves me and everyone! I know that even when I make mistakes in my life that through the Sacrament I have the glorious gift of trying to do better and keep working for eternal life. Every Sunday brings excitment and joy into my life!

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I realized at a very young age, the importance of daily personnel prayer and family prayer in my life. I have such strong testimony of the power of prayer. I know that Heavenly Father answers all prayers. He is my very best friend. I talk to him as a friend and share with him my joys and sadness. I thank him for all that I am and for the many blessings I recieve in my life. Heavenly Father is real, he knows us on a individual bases. He understands our needs and he continually blesses me, everyday, several times a day. I remember one such prayer that was answered when I finished reading the Book Of Mormon for the first time in my life. I took the challenge as promised and I knelt in prayer and asked Heavenly Father if the book was true. I recieved a answer that IT IS TRUE. Since that time I have read this great book over and over again and will continue to do so. I know that the power of prayer is real!

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

Family is so important to our Heavenly Father. Family is also important to me and my Husband. We have been blessed to have four children of our own and then of course the greatest blessing is adding three new children as our children have found their eternal companions and been married in the Temple. We feel such a great love and devotion in keeping our family strong, that we invite all of our children and their families to join us in Family Home Evening at our home. We still share in all of the assignments with each one having a small part. I have never felt the spirit so strong in our home as we gather and kneel in prayer and grow in the gospel as lessons and songs are sung. Of course we love to laugh as a family and so we enjoy having fun activities to do and always eating a yummy treat! Its great to have everyone put away their cell phones and join in.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in many different callings in the church. At a very young age at 12 I was called to play the piano for Sunday School. Since then I have had the privilege of holding many musical callings of which I am doing now playing for our ward choir. I also am a visiting teacher and have loved every moment of visiting and serving the sisters that our my friends. I have been employed by our local school district to be a aide with the special needs children. I have loved every moment of being with them. I know that they are so loved by our Heavenly Father and their families. They have such special spirits about them. I also loved my calling being the Primary President. My life is children and I feel closest to my Heavenly Father when I am working with them.
