Hi I'm Jim

I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I am a Texas boy transplanted to the deserts of Arizona. I love the beauty of East Texas, the rivers and the streams with their abundance of crawfish and catfish. The things that I do not miss are the chigger and grass burrs that could penetrate halfway through your foot. At the same time I love the Arizona desert, its many recreational lakes and the beautiful saguaro cactus that dot the landscape. I am a husband of some 47 years, a father, grandfather and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that this religion holds the fullness of the everlasting gospel. That by following its precepts and teachings I, along with my family and friends, can return to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I find none of its teachings, that when followed, don’t make me a better husband, father and citizen. I believe it to be the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days. I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good husband, father, and neighbor. I attend church with my family on a regular basis. As a family we have a designated time when we sit together and read and discuss the scriptures. We have set aside a time each week when we are together as a family and take turns teaching and discussing the gospel. This we call “Family Home Evening”. We make a concerted effort to live gospel principles in all that we do at home, at school, at work and at play.
