Hi I'm Robin

I love Skiing, making candy, decorating cakes, working with children, and spending time with my family, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Seattle Washington near Greenlake. My mother is a convert and my father was an atheist. We were the "crazy" neighbors on the block. My father did not approve of us going to church on Sunday and would yell unkind words at my mother on her way our the door to church. Growing up I always knew that church attendance was my choice and at times I had other plans. I have done ballet since I was 6 years old and have taught ballet and even owned a dance school for a short while. Currently I am going to school for a degree. I met my husband at a church youth dance when I was 16 years old. We got married young by worldly standards and have been married for almost 20 years now. With four beautiful children, it has been wonderful sharing and growing through all the easy and hard times together. My husband is truly a blessing to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life is not an option for me, I have had experiences that have cemented this opinion within myself. When I have been troubled with life's hard times there has always been one that I can count on and that is my Father in heaven. Some years ago I had a tragic experience. My youngest son had a near drowning in which I resuscitated him. In the days that followed this event I was plagued with a constant recall of every detail of the near drowning from start to finish. I was not able to sleep, I had very little appetite and no desire to live my life. My days were filled with crying and struggling to cope with what had happened and why. But then I prayed for Heavenly Father to take away the images that replayed over and again in my head. And the next time my mind replayed the events, I saw angels round about me as I lifted my little boy out of the pool and as l resuscitated him I saw and heard my deceased father guiding me as to how to save my child. After that it did not replay in my mind again and again. I was freed from this nightmare and given the ability to concentrate on the blessings in my life once again. No matter what happens to me I know that I am loved. My Faith strengthens me and my family. Focusing on doing good works and service for others makes me happy and helps me to be a better person. My purpose in life is to serve others with any skills and talents I possess. Lifting others up is why I was put here on the earth. There is not a day that will pass that I would not have the ability to recognize the love of the Savior in everything around and within me.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others. I love working with children and teenagers. Most of my service in the church has been with the children and youth, either teaching or helping with weekly activities. A few times I have been able to use my dance and stage experience to help teach the youth of the church various dances for large dance festivals and roadshows. It is very exciting to see the process of young people that have never taken a dance class learn and perform a dance with the confidence of a professional. My favorite place to be on Sunday's is in the Primary with the little ones or with the Youth of the church. They inspire me with their sweet spirits and innocent wonderment. There is so much to be learned from these charismatic and brilliant children. The rest of my time I am focused on my husband and four children who are so fun to be with. I love serving them in any way that I can. I am grateful that the church and Gospel make family the utmost priority.
