Hi I'm Samantha

I grew up in Arizona, love sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a Photojournalism emphasis and my favorite part of photography is shooting action sports. I also love to sew and spend a ton of time doing that-baby quilts, throws, and the list goes on and on. I am a diehard USC Trojans fan and wear my cardinal and gold win or lose. I love to play soccer and mountain bike. I blew out my knee playing soccer when I was 18 and have had a few surgeries to fix it and keep me on the field. There have been many wonderful experiences in my life, and also some hard ones, but I know that I am truly blessed and try to remember that each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a belief in God and known from childhood that the principles my parents were teaching me were true. I am blessed to have had an innate knowledge in where I came from and where I am headed. Being a Mormon helps me to be a better person, constantly learning and growing to become more like my Savior. I find hope in its teachings and knowing that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. He is constantly looking out for me and my best interests-not just in the here and now, but in the long run. I can be short-sighted sometimes, and forget that there is an eternal plan, but I know that things will work out as they should in their time, and that is a blessing to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to emulate Jesus Christ in what I do and say. I am involved with the women in my ward and helping to plan lessons for them each Sunday. I believe that it is important to live in word but also in deed. I stumble, like everyone else, and am not perfect, but I have learned to use the power of the Atonement to right what I have done wrong and try to do better next time. I try to treat others as I would like them to treat me. I have a difficult job, where I am in not great situations with angry people on a pretty regular basis, but I continually try not to stoop to a level where I am rude to them, but while it is the goal, it is not always the outcome.
