Hi I'm Carol

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 35 years and have 3 great kids and 3 grandsons. Before my marriage, I had a career in fashion and cosmetics. As a young mom, I had a day care/preschool in my home. After the children were raised, I joined my husband's business as a real estate broker, and we currently work together. I have always loved being creative. I learned how to sew at 12 and still love to sew. I have tried needlepoint, spinning, dyeing yarn, weaving, and quilting. Currently if I am not working, sewing, or reading non-fiction, I can be found visiting my children and grandchildren who all live in different states!

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I were young marrieds with a 2 year old and a baby on the way. We were not fulfilled from the religions we grew up in and began looking for a moral framework to raise our family in. We tried a number of different churches. Our first LDS meeting was one where testimonies were borne. We were VERY impressed with the teenagers and how they kept their high standards despite teasing and challenges from peers. Who wouldn't want to equip their children with the tools to face society today? We joined for our children but quickly discovered that we needed these gospel principles as well! We have been members for 31 years and are so grateful for the belssings, our membership defines who we are and changed the course of our lives. We understand how to serve others and aren't attached to status symbols or possessions. We feel peace and happiness and when challenges come, our faith serves us well.

How I live my faith

We have always served in our Ward (church congregation) and community. When my daughters were young, I helped with activities for them. When our son was a Scout, I was a Den mother. Now I am serving the adult women and am amazed at how quickly a person can develop organization and communication skills. Twice a week i attend scripture study classes and i read the scriptures daily for guidance and direction. The Sabbath is my favorite day, we don't do any real estate work on Sunday and we spend a peaceful day attending church, studying, and relaxing from our busy schedule. I have found a non profit organization that needs donations of children's clothing for babies who don't make it home from the hospital. I sew outfits for them and take comfort in knowing that I may meet them in the spirit world. When we retire, my husband and I would love to serve a Senior Mission together. Our son served a mission in Madrid, Spain and had an amazing experience.
