Hi I'm Marie Nelson

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a wife and mother of 7 beautiful children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Marie, I am a mother of 7 beautiful children, 3 boys, and 4 girls, one of which is Down Syndrome. I have a daughter on a mission in Ecuador, a son in the Marine Corps, an 18 year old son learning the ropes of the business and 4 kids still in school. Being a mother is the biggest and best job of all, ups and downs, joys and sorrows, trials and triumphs and all! My husband and I are also business owners in the commercial construction industry. We love the outdoors, horses, hunting, water sports, motor sports, reading and spending time as a family. Food is one of our passions. I enjoy cooking and crafting. Good food is one of the things that will keep the kids coming back as they get older. I can't wait for some grandkids to SPOIL!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has been an anchor throughout my life. The confirmation of the spirit testifying to me of the truthfulness of the gospel has continued to be reaffirmed to me throughout my life. I have been a member all my life but as challenges have come in life, as they do to us all, it has been my anchor. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ who have always been there for me. No matter the challenge I was facing I always new they were there. I am so grateful for the trials that let me come to better know my Savior and his love for me. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was translated by Joseph Smith. How grateful I am for Josephs courage and testimony. For the sacrifices he made that we might have the restored gospel upon the earth today. I am blessed to be a forever family and sealed in the Temple. I am grateful for the blessings of the Temple and the peace found there. I know President Thomas S. Monson is our Living Prophet today. I have had the spirit bear this witness to me. I always look forward to General Conference where we can be given guidance and counsel from modern day prophets and apostles. I know that my savior died for me and was crucified and atoned for my sins. I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who knows me by name and gave his son that we might have eternal life.

How I live my faith

I have participated in various aspects throughout my life in the church and community. I have volunteered with the Special Olympics, kids classrooms, book fairs and school fairs. I have served and taught in the Young Women, Girls Camp, being a leader for young girls doing activities twice a month, teaching Sunday School, Cub Scouts, teaching and serving in the Women's organization in the church and many committee's organizing various events. Each day I strive to live the things I believe in the things I do and say and the standards I uphold.
