Hi I'm Trudy

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I'm grateful families are forever, what a wonderful gift! I am blessed and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I married the most amazing man. He is full of love for everyone and enjoys everyone. He knows no stranger and strikes up conversations with anyone anywhere all the time. I was given the gift of two precious children who married special mates and gave me and my husband eleven beautiful grandchildren. We have been blessed to live right next door to all eleven of them and we get to see each other every single day. I own a preschool and my daughter and I enjoy teaching the children. I had a few teachers in my life as I was growing up that left great impressions on my mind and gave me a desire to teach one day. Children are so precious! Each and every child needs to know who they are and who loves them. They need to know that Heavenly Father loves them very much and is waiting for them to return to Him someday. I am a convert to the church. My entire family joined when I was almost twelve years old. What an exciting time in our lives to hear the gospel from young missionaries and feel the witness of the Holy Ghost as they taught us true principles from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was eight years old I had the priviledge of attending a primary class with a bunch of neighborhood children when I was eight years old. I felt something that day, as the teacher spoke about the church, that made me want to return as often as I could. The experience left me feeling all warm and cozy inside. The lesson taught that day left me with many questions about who I was and why I was put upon this earth. I wanted to know if there was a God. I wanted to know if He knew who I was and if He was aware of what I was going through in my life. I wanted to know if He was a spirit or a person. I wanted to know if He loved me. I needed to know if He listened to people praying or if that was just a silly story I heard about in a Primary class one day. One afternoon, after school I sat down under one of the big trees in my yard where I grew up and I ask the questions, God are you there? God are you real? God do you love me the way the Primary Teacher told me you do? I had the warmest feeling come over me and it felt like a thousand angels were all around me giving me a big hug all at once. I knew that day my prayer had been answered and that I wanted to learn more from that Primary Teacher at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. However, it was four long years before my mother agreed to let the missionaries come to our home for a visit. We learned about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and it was very easy for me to believe a young boy prayed and got an answer from a loving Heavenly Father because He had answered my prayers. I felt all warm inside each time the missionaries taught us discussions. I came to know that the warm feelings were the witness of the Holy Ghost. Needless to say my family and I were converted to the Gospel and we joined the Church in 1977. The Gospel has been such a blessing in my life. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers that are offered with a sincere heart.

How I live my faith

I have served as a Primary Teacher and enjoyed teaching the children the same lessons that were taught to me when I had so many questions about the Gospel. It is very rewarding to work with children and feel their joy and love of life. A childs laughter is contagious, it simply warms my soul. I have also had the opportunity to coach softball and basket ball in the community for many years. Working with the youth is a great way to give back to the community I live in. Teaching them that being competative doesn't mean being unkind in any way. Play your best, have fun, and may the best team win. I volenteered in the P.T.O. and helped in the classrooms of my children. I later worked for many years at the elementary school as an aide. I love music, especially gospel music. I like to help my grandchildren practice their instrument lessons and encourage them to never give up on anything that is worth while. I enjoyed very much learning about and discovering my hidden talents in the women's organization of the church. I was encouraged there by wonderful women that I could learn to do anything I wanted to do if I would just try. I learned to serve others as they served me and my family. I learned to love people of all nationalities as we are all children of Heavenly Father. I learned to cook, sew, can food and make beautiful decorations for my home. I enjoy quilting and visiting and learning about those around me. I feel a since of accomplishment when I know the projects worked on for humanitarian needs are appreciated and received with grateful hearts and hands. I am blessed because I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My family is blessed. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of each one of us. He knows our needs and He is ready to help us, usually through other people, over come our needs. He is aware of you. He loves you. He is waiting for you and I to return home to Him someday.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everyday I am reminded that there is a God through the beauty of the earth. I am reminded as I watch butterflies dancing through the flower garden and the smell of fresh clean air after the rain. Of dew drops on yellow petals that glisten as the sun peeks over the hill first thing in the morning. I am reminded when I hear the songs of birds as they greet a new day. I am reminded as I hold each of my new born children and grandchildren in my arms for the first time. I am reminded as I prepare the garden soil and watch as new life in spring pushes its way heavenward seeking the light. I am reminded as a dramatic sun set fades from view that there will be a tomorrow. I am reminded as a hell storm vanishes and a bright rainbow emerges into the sky. I am reminded as I taste the fresh sweet strawberries near the walkway as I watch a million little black ants run in and out of their hill. I am reminded as I see His mercy in my life. I am reminded as I laugh with a child. I am reminded as the first winter snow falls deep and white silencing the world around me. I am reminded as pain is wiped away and healing begins. I am reminded as I meet someone new for the first time and relize we are kindred spirits. I am reminded when I can feel his love wrapped around me when I am filled with grief over the loss of a loved one. I am reminded when my grandaughter hugs me tight and looks into my eyes. I am reminded.... Thank you God for the reminders that you love me. Show more Show less
