Hi I'm Jean

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have known since I was about 10 years old, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church. I was raised in the church and my parents and siblings were all very active in the church in my growing up years. I came to know for myself that the church was true after reading the Book of Mormon by myself and then praying to my Heavenly Father for confirmation of what I had been reading. I was raised in Utah and lived there until 1967, when my husband and family moved to Arizona. We returned to Utah for about ten years. During some of that time, I worked at BYU as a Dorm Mom, while a couple of my children were students there. That was a very fun time. I returned to Arizona in 2000, to be close to several of my children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so happy that I'm a Mormon. I have had so many wonderful experiences by living the gospel concepts. I have loved serving in so many positions that have helped to love those that I've served. I've been a Relief Society President (this is the women's organization of the church). I have also served as an ordinance worker in the Mesa Temple for six years and then I was called on a mission in the Mesa Regional Family History Center, where I served for six years. I'm so grateful for the many opportunities that our Father in Heaven has given me to help me to learn to love his children and to grow in my testimony of Him and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. One of my special hobbies, now is finding my ancestors and doing vicarious work for them in the temple.

How I live my faith

It's so much easier to live the gospel when we are obedient to Father in Heavens commandments. I look forward each Sunday to attending the Sunday meetings, where I am a Family History Consultant. In that position, I help members and even non-members search for their ancestors on the internet. I love this work. I love my associations with my ward family. I love being a Visiting Teacher with my partner, Kathy. Each month, we visit at least four sisters in their homes and share a gospel message with them. We also try to find ways that we can help them in any way. At least two of the sisters we visit, are single sisters, and so we try to be alert to any thing that we can do to help them out in any way. It's so comforting that the Lord has a program where every sister over 18 and every family in the church can ( and should ) be visited by a companionship of two sisters or two brethren to see to their needs, spiritual or temporal. I also attend the Mesa Temple weekly to do the sacred work there. I love being in the temple. There is no where else in the world, where we can feel so close to our Heavenly Father and His son. There is so much love and comfort there.
