Hi I'm Ji-Hye.

I grew up in Hawaii. I am a marriage and family therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, watch movies, eat out with family and friends, spend time in the sun, travel, and shop.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents converted when they were in their late-teens/early twenties back in Korea. My family immigrated to the United States when I was 6 and that was a very difficult transition for us all. There was a new language, new people, and a whole new culture to get used to. There were so many changes and yet something that did not change was our faith and belief in Jesus Christ. The Church was run the same in Hawaii as it had run in Korea. Also as I got older I remember feeling like I was never Korean enough, American enough, or Hawaiian enough and during those down times I turned to a solid foundation where I was never lacking and that was my relationship with my Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ. To Them I was ALWAYS enough. I am who I am and do what I do today because I know I am a child of God and having that as my foundation I know that I am Korean enough, American enough, Hawaiian enough... enough in every way! Knowing that I am a child of God gives me the motivation to continue improving and growing because I want to live with my Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ again after this life. I want to be and do all that I can to please Them because I know They love me and They know that I am capable of being a good person and capable of doing great things. I want to be able to stand before Them and show Them the 3 or 5 new talents I have increased with the 3 or 5 talents They gave me to begin with. My relationship with Them means everything to me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to me because it has taught me about the my true nature as a child of God and what my purpose is here on earth. My relationship with my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ and Their Gospel has taught me how to love and serve others. It has taught me everything I know to be true!!

How I live my faith

I attend my 3 hours of church service every sunday and have taught many Sunday School classes. I have organized many service projects and have participated in many of them as well. I try my best to visit with a few individual women from my congregation monthly so we can teach the gospel and learn from each other. Also, so that they know they always have a friend and are never alone. Currently, I support and help the missionaries in their efforts to teach the Restored Gospel to those who are interested in learning. I also organize trips to the temple for members of my congregation so that we can help others receive ordinances for their salvation. Going to the temple often also helps me to remember the ordinances and covenants I have made so that I can better keep them.
