Hi I'm Amy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls. I am a former third grade teacher and now a part time substitute teacher. I help my husband manage a family business that we recently built together. After living in Colorado for several years, my family recently moved to Texas. My favorite place to be is in the mountains. I love being out among God's magnificent creations. Music makes my heart happy. So do daisies, waterfalls, and rainbows. And chocolate. Definitely chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church and have been actively involved with it my entire life. However, as I became a young adult, I really struggled with my faith. I had many questions and even doubts. I spent several years struggling and searching, and along the way I learned many things. I learned that I have a Father in Heaven who is indeed aware of me and my individual circumstances. Not only is He aware of me, but He loves me and is involved in the details of my life. I learned that He does hear and answer my prayers. I learned that while faith is essential, we are not expected to have "blind faith" and just believe because of what somebody else says. God wants us to ask questions and seek answers for ourselves. When we diligently seek in faith, He will give us the answers we need. As I have sought answers, I have received a personal witness of truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. This witness has come at many different times and in many different ways. I don't have a perfect knowledge of everything, but I have received a personal witness that The Book of Mormon is true. I have witnessed the power of prayer. I have seen God's hand in my own life as well as in the lives of others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best every day to seek God's will and do the things He would have me do. My faith is ingrained into every aspect of my life, because it is who I am. It is not just about going to church on Sundays (although I do enjoy that part!)
