Hi I'm Heidi

I am a mother of five daughters. I love running and spending time with my husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the youngest of 7 daughters on a dairy farm in Idaho. My dad taught us to feed calves, drive tractors and move sprinkler pipe. It wasn't always easy, but I loved it! I'm so grateful for the valuable lessons I learned on the farm. After high school, I attended BYU, met and married my sweetheart & then earned my license as a radiological technologist. My husband and I worked hard, together, to complete our educations. I love being a wife & a mother & am grateful for the blessing of being able to stay at home with our girls. I enjoy reading (when I find the time), being active & running, however, I find my greatest joy in supporting my family. Whether it's watching soccer games, attending gymnastics meets, swimming, water-skiing, riding bikes or just being home together... these are my most treasured moments.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad joined the church when he was 13 years old even though his mom was inactive and his dad was completely against it. When he was old enough to serve a mission, his dad asked him not to go, but to stay home and run the family farm with him. My dad wanted to serve a mission so he did! After he returned, he met and married my mom and together they raised 7 daughters. Along with this, my grandma became active in the church once again, my grandpa was finally baptized and later they were sealed in the temple with all of their children. Not only are they grateful for my dad's example and his decision to follow Jesus Christ, but I am thankful as well. He and my mom raised my sisters and I with the gospel and Jesus Christ as the center of our home. We attended our Sunday church meetings and our youth activities. We had family prayer, family home evening and scripture study regularly. As a child, I knew this was what we should be doing because it felt right and it felt good! I am so grateful that my parents raised us to know the Savior and to live His gospel. I know that my testimony of Jesus Christ began to grow as a little girl. It continued to grow and to help me through difficult times as a teenager and young adult. It influenced my decision as to where I wanted to go to college. It was there at BYU that I met my husband and now have the family that I had always hoped and prayed for. My testimony continues to grow each day as I keep the commandments & follow the Savior's example. I know that this is His gospel and that families truly can be together forever. This knowledge has blessed my life, and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

For me, the gospel of Jesus Christ influences all aspects of my life. It provides answers and direction when I am faced with challenges or important decisions that I need to make. Because Jesus Christ loves us all, He has given us His gospel and prophets who lead and guide us today. He has also made it possible for us to have His written words in the scriptures. These are huge blessings in my life! As a mother, trying to raise 5 girls in this scary world, I am grateful to know I can turn to the scriptures or listen to a talk from our prophet or other church leaders and receive answers to help me. Each morning when we read from the Book of Mormon together and say family prayer, we are strengthened. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of us and that He will watch over and bless us. Doing these things won't guarantee that things will always be perfect, but at least I know where I can turn when I need to receive comfort and peace. Outside of my home, I have been asked to work with the young girls, ages 12-13 in our ward. I love associating with these girls and am amazed at how strong their testimonies and characters are. They know what is right and what is wrong and they aren't afraid to go against the world's standard to stand up for the Lord's standards. They are great examples to me! I truly feel blessed to be a member of this church and realize that every good thing in my life has come from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
