Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Arizona. I taught math for 11 years and now I'm a stay home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Recently I have retired from teaching junior high and high school math to stay home with my young children. I taught for 11 years and loved every minute of it. It is so wonderful to see when the light bulb comes on in a child's eye. I am so thankful for the opportunities that we have in life to change things. I am happy being a stay at home mom for my children. It is a blast. I also have a little extra time to scrapbook and try my hand at sewing. I enjoy learning how to do new things and increase my knowledge. I like to bowl and do fun things with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was looking for something else in my life to feel complete. At the age of 16 many things were happening and I felt that I needed to know there was a purpose to me being here. I found the missionaries and joined. I never gave a second thought to not joining. I knew it was the right thing to do and I found peace and comfort with that decision. I am a stronger person now because I have continued in the gospel. I know that we are here on this earth to learn and become like Christ. I have been blessed so many times in my life that I can't deny that this is the true gospel of Christ. I have been comforted when weak and strengthened when I needed it. Even though I have multiple sclerosis I have been bleesed even more. I have found added strength to overcome this trial through my faith in the Lord and the Atonement. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and knows of our needs. He wants to bless us as long as we are trying to live and do righteous things. He is there for us every minute of our lives and wants us to turn to Him for help. I am thankful for the knowledge I have gained from this gospel to be able to handle whatever comes in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing to others kindness and love. I have taught young children from the age of 4 to 16 gospel principles, how they can become like Christ. I now work with the women of our church in planning activities that will help them become more self-reliant and self-sufficient. We have done workshops for food storage, car maintenance, and basic sewing. It is always fun to learn with the women of the church. I also love going to visit sisters in our church. It is comforting to know that if I need someone in a pinch I have ladies that I can call and they will be there. I love giving service to people when they need it. Just taking a meal to someone that is in need for whatever reason is such a blessing in both our lives. I know that when I do those things it brings comfort to those that need it. I also enjoy seeing my son participate in cub scouts and the friends he has made and the things he has learned. Helping others is fulfilling. I enjoy the friendships I have made and the love I feel when I am around them.
