Hi I'm Marian

I have been married for 43 years and have 5 children and 16 grandchildren. I taught preschool for 27 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is one of my greatest joys. We love being together and sharing special moments and memories. Every 2 years we have a family reunion and share 3 or 4 days together. We have been holding a Family Home Evening once a month for quite a few years with our 4 children and 12 grandchildren who live by us. Education has always been important to me. I have taught 3rd grade and preschool for 27 years. I have used my teaching ability in a variety of church callings. I've taught Primary, Cub Scouts and early morning Seminary for 8 years. I love children and watching them learn and grasp new concepts. I have just retired. Some of my hobbies are gardening, reading, playing the piano and traveling. I enjoy looking in antique stores.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. I was baptized when I was 8. As I have continued to study the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have found that it brings happiness into my life. I know that I lived with my Heavenly Father before I came to earth. Knowing that He knows me and is concerned about my welfare makes me feel loved. My goal is to work hard here on earth by doing the things that He wants me to do so that I can return and live with Him again. I love living in a day when we have living Prophets on earth that can communicate with our Father in Heaven and Christ. By listening to and reading inspired talks I know the things that I need to be working on in my life to lead me back to my heavenly home. Since I love my family so much I am greatful for the fact that they are not just my family here on earth, but that they will be my family forever because of my Temple marriage.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in many callings that have come to me. I have been a teacher in Primary, Cub Scouts and early morning Seminary. I have been the President for Primary and the young womens organization on both the Ward and the Stake level. I have played the piano for different church groups and individuals to sing. I have been a visiting teacher for many years and have loved the opportunity it gives me to serve and get to know other women in my Ward. I enjoy serving in the community that I live in when the need arises. I have had the opportunity to organize youth conferences and have participated in Girls Camp. I have never felt like a leader but have had many chances to lead and have appreciated how they have helped to grow as a person and gain confidence.
