Hi I'm Harrison

I grew up in Colorado. I love to read. I love being outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in New York City but raised as a Colorado transplant, I grew up a rambunctious kid with a passion for the outdoors, reading, Legos and having a good time. I am an Eagle Scout and a student at Brigham Young University. My service as a missionary took me to Texas and Argentina and back again

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in the Church by a loving and devoted family. The roots of my faith were planted in their legacy. Their example of faith gave me little reason to doubt anything I learned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Moreover, their example of faith gave me every reason to learn the truth for myself through study of the scriptures and personal, soul-searching prayer. I am a member of this Church because I know that the Book of Mormon truly testifies of Jesus Christ and His teachings. As an ancient scriptural witness of His divinity, the Book of Mormon stands next to the Bible as an additional beacon to guide God's children along the path back to His presence. The fact that the Book of Mormon was brought forth by the power of God nearly two hundred years ago solidifies my knowledge that God appoints and speaks to modern prophets. As authorized servants of the Lord, those prophets serve all mankind through this Church. The Holy Spirit engraves the witness of these and many other truths about our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, in my soul. Such undeniable testimony has sustained and guided me over the short course of my life. Though some of my decisions and actions have led me to feel as if I walked forsaken and alone in the valley of the shadow of death, I know the redemptive power of the Savior overcomes the binding and desperate chains of sin. I know that is true because I have felt His warm embrace lift my soul and seen that same effect in the lives of many very dear to me. I will continue to seek His gracious forgiveness through continual and progressive repentance in obedience to His commandments.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith in the small choices I make each day. Daily communication in prayer with Heavenly Father helps me seek harmony with His will for my life and allows me to feel the personal love He has for me. Study of the scriptures helps me learn how to follow our greatest example, the Savior Jesus Christ. Following Him motivates me to continually repent and more lovingly obey His commandments. Serving those around me helps me to see the love God has for His children. I serve those that share my beliefs in my current neighborhood by performing administrative and clerical tasks for the local leaders of my congregation. Truly, the Lord's sheep are numbered and accounted unto Him. He knows and calls them by name. My efforts to maintain order with the records of the members of my congregation aid my local leaders as they minister and serve others with Christ-like love.
