Hi I'm Hazel

I am a Photography Lover and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Seoul, South Korea. And at age 19, I came to Southern California to pursue my dream to study Photography in college. Art has been always my dream. I love capturing all the colors, light, and sound when pictures are taken. Creating something is such a hard process but it gives me this amazing feeling of accomplishment at the end of the tunnel. I love the moment when I reflect back on my process and am able to witness the great result of my hard work and I can just smile no matter what I went through. I also love to get dirty with my hands by using charcoal, clay, and chemical liquids etc. to complete my art work. I haven't had a chance to take any art classes until college but I always enjoyed going to the museums and art galleries to see other artists' inspirational and creative work since I was young. I am very persistent until I capture a special moment through my lens, I don't mind about being cold or hot and spending long hours to catch that right moment. No matter what circumstances I am under, I keep taking pictures until I get what I really want to snap eventually. I love the moment when people see their pictures taken by me and my pictures make them smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints because I had a witness myself that this church is the church that Jesus Christ set up when he was on the Earth. I know what the church teaches are all the principles and values of the gospel which helps us to come unto Christ. My father found a free English class taught by the missionaries for my oldest sister. That's how our family got familiar with the church. She told the missionaries about how she explored other religions already and she could not find any church for her. Missionaries taught my sister about the church, how it was restored by the modern prophet, Joseph smith, with fullness of the Gospel. They asked my sister to pray about what they taught her. And as she took a challenge from the last prophet Moroni of the Book of Mormon, she prayed. As she did, she felt this strong feeling and she found out herself that is to be true. So shortly she was baptized to follow Jesus Christ. In fact, I didn't know much what my sister had experienced with missionaries since I was only 9 years old. However she invited me to go to the church with her one day. I was going to a Presbyterian church near by my house at that time but I wanted to go to the church with her, so I did. I still vividly remember what I felt when I went to the service with her for the first time. It was very peaceful feeling and I was overwhelmed with all sorts of good feelings there although I already had been to other church. It was definitely a different feeling. I started learning about the church from missionaries and I felt goodness and warmth in my heart. I learned that those feelings came from the Holy Ghost, spirit of God testified and taught me about the truth. Even though I could not perfectly comprehend all the details that I learned at that time, but I knew it was the church of Jesus Christ on the earth. And the Holy Ghost helped me to make a decision to be baptized to be a member of Christ's church.

How I live my faith

My way to live with faith is very simple; however, it helps my faith to get stronger daily with following three simple ways ; I communicate with our Father in Heaven diligently through prayer, I attend the church meetings to learn more about the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, and I love reading the scriptures to apply those teachings from Prophets into my life. I had served in my home congregation as a pianist and helped my friends to strengthen each other through Gospel of Jesus Christ. Also those simple ways have helped not only me but others by reaching out to help them to come unto Christ. Since I felt the true joy and happiness in my life through Gospel of Jesus Christ; I love sharing this Gospel with others to teach about how having faith in Jesus Christ can help them to have bright hope in their lives, to know that Jesus Christ did atone for our sins, to turn to our Father in Heaven with changing heart, to follow Jesus Christ to be baptized with immersion, to receive gift of the Holy Ghost by the person who has proper authority from God to have spirit of God always, and to live faithfully by keeping the commandments of God until the time they return to Him.
