Hi I'm Jake
I am a big sports enthusiast, I have the greatest wife in the world, and yes, I am a Mormon!
I grew up in Yakima and have been there all my life. I have a great family! I love going fishing with my Dad and hunting when I get a chance to. I love hiking as well. I am a big sports enthusiast. I could watch sports or play sports all day any day! My dad taught me how to work hard and never give up and I am super grateful for. I was studying Business Management in college but bigger and better things have called me away! I am now serving a full time mission in Spokane Washington!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a convert to the Church. I grew up in a very non-religious home and was very unfamiliar with any type of religion. I had only been to church a couple times in my life and it was mostly just to be with some friends. I had always believed that there was a God but that was as far as it went. After I graduated High School I was introduced to the Church by a friend. I started to look into the church and read the Book of Mormon. When I was reading it I felt as though it was easy to understand for someone who had zero religious background. A lot of things I was reading made a lot of sense. I then began to meet with the missionaries! I started to meet with them and continue to learn more and more about the gospel. Everything they taught seemed to make so much sense. I knew that this was from God. I knew that this was the path that my Heavenly Father wanted for me. I was baptized on April 18, 2009. The past two years have been the best of my life. I have learned so much and have seen a huge turn around in my life. The direction that I see in my life now is amazing and unquestionable. The gospel truly has blessed my life. Now, I have the opportunity to bring that joy and direction to others. I am currently serving a mission in Spokane, Wa. I am so grateful for this opportunity. The reason why I decided to serve a mission is because I know how much it has blessed my life and everyone should know about this gospel and the happiness it brings. Thats why I am a Mormon!
How I live my faith
I am currently serving a 2-year mission in Spokane, Wa. I love every minute of it. I have the privilege of serving people every day. Having the opportunity to help people learn of the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us is by far the greatest experience I have ever had in my life. I love being on a mission! It is the greatest thing in the world! The best part of it is I know the great blessings and direction I have seen in my life, and bringing that to others is the incredible. I love that we can all know for ourselves. We can exercise our faith and ask God if Christ's church has been restored through a living day prophet. We have all the tools that we need to know if the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. We have the Book of Mormon! It invites us to read it and ponder in our hearts the message it contains, and to pray about it! How cool is that! Serving the Lord.....There just isnt anything better..... JUST DO IT!
