Hi I'm Melia

I'm a young stay at home mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21 year old wife and mother of two very high spirited and beautiful girls. I have an AA and hope to go back to school to continue my education and become a middle school math teacher. My absolute favorite things are snuggling with the hubs while watching a movie and making my daughters laugh. To me I am just an average joe. There are many things I like to do; dancing, acting, scrapbooking, reading, puzzles, but I excelle at none of them. Although at times I feel my talents are few and almost non-exsistance I ALWAYS remember my true worth, I AM a daughter of Heavenly Father and I know through His eyes I am so much more.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. Although most times, not going wasn't really an option, through my childhood I usually wanted to go. When I started my teenage years, my reason for going was usually because I didn't want to disappoint my teachers and I knew I was supposed to. However, that started to change once I really started listening to what my teachers at church were trying to tell me in their lessons. I started a reutine of saying my prayers and reading my scriptures everyday and something in me changed. I felt the spirit and knew what I was doing was right. I became a happier person. There was a positive difference in my life. Now my reason for going to church was because I wanted to, to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus was on this earth, and that He still lives. I was truly trying to follow Jesus's examples and live my life as He had taught to do so and I was starting to see the positive changes it was having on my life. My relationship with my Heavenly Father was strengthened through my constant communication with him. But the one thing that really bore witness of the trueness of His exsitence was after a lesson in church. My teacher was talking about prayer and how it can help us to know Heavenly Father and to know that He loves us and is there. She challenged us to go home that night and pray to our Father in Heaven and ask him if He knows us and loves us. I did that and I can still remember the feeling that overwhelmed me. I was on my knees asking if He was there, if He knew me, and if He loved me. I sat still listening, waiting for an answer, when I thought I heard a soft voice say, "Yes." I was overwelmed with the feeling of such great love and warmness. I know our Father loves us and gave us this gospel so we could grow closer to Him, and if we study the scriptures they can act like our guide in helping us return to our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have recently been called into the Young Women's program in my ward. This program is for girls ages 12-18. We have activites every Wednesday, and are together the last hour of chuch for lessons. I am so excited to be a part of this program because it was what I was taught while in this program as a teenage girl that really helped my testimony about Jesus Christ grow. Now, I have the opportunity to help girls have the same positive experiences. We have lots of fun together.
