Hi I'm Shelly

I am a mother of 6 kids and married my best friend. I love to dance and visit with friends and family and I am a mormon.

About Me

I am living my dream of being a mom and wife. Yes, it is hard at times and I want to quit, but the love I have for them keeps me trying. I love people - especially the nice ones. I love listening to their life stories and being their friend. I love watching movies. I don't do it much, but sometimes I escape all by myself with a bag of popcorn and a drink and giggle when the movie starts. I love to dance in the car when a good song comes on and it embarasses my kids. I love teenagers. I love elementary age kids. I love that my husband loves all kids. They gravitate to him - he's so cool. I love when people around me are happy. I think I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have the life I do, and I owe it to the gosepl of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter Day Saints. I've always loved the way it made me feel. I knew the things I was taught as a child were true. I was taught not to drink alcohol, smoke, not to say bad words, stay morally clean and that family was important. I knew how to pray and I felt the Holy Ghost in my life. I never questioned the truthfulness of the gospel. I always knew it was where I needed to be. There are so many miracles that have happened in my life that have strengthened my testimony. I cannot deny what I feel in my heart. I have seen people find the church and become a member of it and how it has changed their life for the better.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friend to everyone. I know Hevenly Father watches over us and depends on us to help eachother. We are all brothers and sisers no matter what church we belong to. Right now I serve in my church by teaching the Bear Cub Scouts. I have all the boys at my house once a week and we learn so much together. I love teaching them about the flag, our community, respect and honesty. I have 5 nine year old boys in my cub den. We have fun and do a lot.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are forever is a very poplar phrase used in our church. I truly believe that. That statement brings so much comfort and peace in my life. When life is hard or I feel like my trials are too much, I look on my family room wall where I have "families are forever" in big bold letters. I love it. Families are everything! Show more Show less
