Hi I'm Danae

I'm a swing-dancing-with-my-hubby-in-the-kitchen mother of 3. I'm a dreamer, snuggler-on-the-couch, and cook. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy my life! I am a mother to one son and two daughters who make me smile. I am married to my favorite friend, secret keeper, partner in crime, late-night-movie-and-treats side kick, and handsome husband. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (focusing in dance) from Arizona State University. My hubby surprised me with ballroom dance lessons a few years ago. We have so much fun laughing at ourselves when we mess up, and having our kids beg to jump around with us when we dance in the kitchen. My primary focus is my home and my family. I love to spend time having fun with my kids. We have a much-loved oldie-but-a-goodie boat, and with our great AZ weather, we hit the nearby lakes for swimming, tubing, and wake boarding. No phones, TV, computers, or distractions!! Just fun!!! Creating happy memories as a family is very important to me. I want my kids to realize that they can have loads of fun AND remain true to their faith at the same time. Hanging out with my sweetie is my favorite hobby. Snuggling with each of my kids for a few minutes at night as they talk about their high points and low points of the day is treasured time for me. I love date nights, girl's night out with my friends, sewing (easy things), being active, singing loud to the radio with my kids while we clean, and starting new traditions.

Why I am a Mormon

This is simple and easy. Because I received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that God is real, that He loves me and knows me by name, everything else just falls into place. I was taught at a very early age that I could pray, and God would listen. I could ask Him if this Gospel is true, and He would answer me. So, I did. And He DID answer me with a sweet warm peaceful feeling in my heart. I could never deny how I felt; nor could I forget it, because I feel it again every time I hear truth, and every time I pray sincerely. I feel that same feeling whenever I am around goodness, holiness, or things that are simple and pure. I take courage from those moments, and use it to help me through life’s day to day choices and difficult decisions. I have true joy, peace, hope, courage, friendship, and love in my life. This is a direct result to my faith and commitment to this church. Why would I not love it?!

How I live my faith

When it comes down to it, this too is simple and easy. I talk daily to a tender and loving God in prayer. I tell Him about my joys, the things I treasure, and the things I am grateful for. I also pour out my sorrows and disappointments to Him as well. I ask Him for help. I let Him know I love Him and am grateful for His help. This process is humbling and faith building. One of the ways the Lord takes care of us is through others. Helping, loving, and showing kindness to those around me are ways I strive to live my faith. Following through with what I am asked to do in various classes and activities within my church is another way I like to live my faith. I have been blessed to have strong, caring, and faithful friends around me, and I draw strength from their examples and experiences as they try to live true to their faith as well.
