Hi I'm Doug

I am a firefighter for the City of Mesa, Arizona, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two children and i have 5 grand children. I am a firemen. I have been a fireman for 33 years. I love to work with people. It is amazing to be where I can help people when they are in need. I work with a very large fire department and there are many very wonderful people that I work with.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was already members of the mormon faith. I am thankful for the church. My faith and understanding of the gospel helps me with the challenges I experience in life. I know that we have a prophet of God, today. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, as well. I know that by following the teaching of these prophets of God that our lives can be enriched. I love all that being a mormon offers. It gives me comfort to know that I have an eternal family. I love them so much.

How I live my faith

In my church I work with the young men. I help them with their service projects. Currently the young men in our ward, ages 12-18, provide for the community an American flag on all of the national holidays. The people in the community sign up and for a small fee the boys set up and take down the flag each holiday. The flags fly in front of their homes. It is so great to see them flying all through the neighborhood. The boys use the funds to go to summer camps.
