Hi I'm Kelly

I am a sixth generation Mormon

About Me

I love the great outdoors, being outside and observing nature. I tell people I am a hunter, with the camera as my amunition I like to sew. My mother taught me how to sew, it was just a part of my life growing up, however I found out that I love to sew. I could spend hours and hours sewing. My husband and I started a cabinetry and millwork business 22 years ago, along with our three boys. It was a great opportunity to get them started to have a good work ethic. I now work in the office and My husband and two of the boys work in the shop and install. We like to stay busy. We bought our first home, as a fixer-up-home. We worked together and fixed it up, to sell it 2 years later. Then we bought a newer home and did all the finish work in that home, and sold it 8 years later. The third home we bought was a real duesy, It was boarded up and condemmed, but just needed some love. Lived there for 12 years and decided it was time to move on. This time we decided to build our dream home from ground up. It has been 13 going on 14 years, and we are plugging away at our home. Children are now grown. We have 10 granddaughter and 4 grandsons, with another granddaugher on the way. I wish I could spend all my time with my grandchildren. I love being with children. I volunteer at the school, I tried to keep up with each of my grandchildren's classes, but there is only so many hours in a day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8, and have always been active in the church. It is my life, and would have it no other way. I have grown more and more each year learning and loving the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I read the scriptures of prophets of the Bible, Old Testiment and New Testiment. and the Book of Mormon I come to realize I am so blessed to have these great books at my fingertips. I am also grateful I have a living prophet Today. I have always known, if we do what the prophet says we will not go wrong and we will have no need to fear. As my family has grown, I can seen it has been a great help in knowing what to do and what goals I need to have in my life. I have a great testimony that Families can be together throughout the Eternities. The Gospel is so simple, and yet we need to work at it all the time to have the rewards.

How I live my faith

I love the fact that I get to visit three ladies each month. Each have their challanges in life, and it helps me to know that we all have difficulties in life, but as friends and neighbors we can help each other and they become easier. Sundays are my days to rejuvenate for the week to come, Learning from other at Church, feeling their love and hearing their testimonies. I also have the opportunity to teach 1 lesson every three months something that the Lord wants the Women to know, and so I really need to study, pray and ponder, what it is that he would have me to teach them. That also helps me to grow spiritually and socially. I am not one that is comfortable at getting up in front of people to speak, so I know that it is a growing experiance for me, and I know I can do it with the help of My Heavely Father.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the womens organization in the church. Relief Society helps women by working together as a small group. We meet together each Sunday for a lesson to help build our faith and set goals for our personal righteousness. We also have extra activities during the week if someone is in need, or just to get together to make something and share our talents with each other. The Relief Society was organized under the direction of the Priesthood, and work together to strengthen each family. Show more Show less
